Default WT829 ~ What's Your Beverage ~ {01/28/2021}

Happy Thursday to you all. It's my turn to host the WTUI challenge this week, and we're going to warm up with some hot drinks - your choice of tea, coffee or chocolate. Or of course if you're somewhere warm, you could have an iced tea or a Frappuccino.

And as for how to use them on your cards...of course there's the straightforward image option, but you could be more adventurous and try any of the following.
Dying some lace, ribbon (seam binding is good) or even your paper with tea.

We also have the following tutorials:
Teabag Stamping

Teabag Holder(and plenty of other options for this)

Alcohol Ink Coffee Card

Coffee Filter prints (I love this tutorial, and it's a two for the price of one, you can use the filter as well as the print)

Coffee Painting (this is a fun one too)

Keurig K-Cup holder

Coffee Filter Treat Purse (my goodness, I'd never seen this one before. And these are the standard filters here, not the large flat ones used in the coffee filter prints)

And of course there's tea bag folding...

Once you've enjoyed your drink and created your beverage-inspired card, upload to the gallery (remember to use the Technique Spotlight gallery for any of the tutorials listed above), using the keyword WT829, and then we strongly advise you to come back and share a link here - the gallery keyword sync is still operating very slowly, and we would be sad to miss your creations.

Here's a link to our WT829 What's Your Beverage gallery

I used painting with coffee, and finally got round to using some teabags Anita gave me. Our ones are far too small to pull apart and stamp on - I'd end up with something not much bigger than a large postage stamp.

WT829 Coffee High

WT829 So Lovely Birthday Butterfly

If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.

As always, big thanks to the WTUI team for inspiring you with their samples: Jayne, Lisa, Toni and Cathy have brewed up some beauties.

Lightbulb Pretty Links with the new text editor

PRETTY LINKS

As you have noticed, links still aren't auto-formatting.
BUT - the new editor is super-easy to use with adding your own text. I can even do it on my cell phone now, and I never used to be able to add links on that before . At least, not at 6 in the morning which is usually when I am moving my challenges around.

Click on the chain in the top row of icons - going right, after the A for font colour, there is the quote sign, the plus sign (not working for its designated function as a spoiler alert/hider so don't try it) and then the chain. This is the same as the old globe and chain/link icon.
When you click on that, you see the box shown in the attachment below - and I might even be able to insert it here after the thread is live.
WT829 ~ What's Your Beverage ~ {01/28/2021}-linking.png

You paste your LINK from your card in the bottom box highlighted in yellow.
You write your text in the top box highlighted in green.
You press OK, and you have a lovely link with your card title - or whatever you have typed in.
Doesn't matter which order you do it in, you can type first and paste after, so long as your LINK is in the BOTTOM box.

This challenge was certainly well timed. I just finished making 14 double pocket teabag holders for seniors in the nursing home who attended our weekly hymn sings before Covid. After I made them all and started inserting the teabags, I disvovered that Canadian individually packaged teabags are larger thsn the Dutch ones. They still fit, but just barely, so if I make more, I will tweek the measurements a bit.

Smile WT829 I like you a latte

Sabrina- thank you for this challenge! For my card creation I went with a cup of coffee- my go to drink in the morning. I repurposed a holiday brown paper bag and a plastic cup with a frosted design for my cup background. Added a simple cotton yarn bow, and my sentiment, fussy cut with a chocolate brown background. Here's I like you a latte

I love the new way of uploading the picture of a card. I think it's great that you showed this, Sabrina. One questions: should you be able to put two links into one post? I have tried but I'm struggling with it. Thanks.

Yes, definitely. But one at a time. So you do one, then make sure you move your cursor down the page by doing a couple of returns on the keyboard. You need to see the chain with the x in it, beside the one you used to make the link, greyed out like this (click to enlarge).
WT829 ~ What's Your Beverage ~ {01/28/2021}-screenshot-2021-01-28-184218.png

If it's full strength, that means you are still in the active link area, so if you link something else you're just replacing the original one. At least, that what it seemed to me when I was messing around, because I wondered why I ended up with two different texts both going to the same link .
The correct use for that chain with an x, by the way, is to cancel an existing link.
