I too love to use chalks and don't take them out often enough. Here's my card --

First time using chalks, and I'm not sure I 'get' them. They're kind of a pain to use for coloring. That said, I still enjoyed the challenge. Thanks, Julia!

Default chalked chipboard

I covered my chipboard flower with craft white ink and then used pastels to color it in. Here's my card:

Thanks for all your comments on the set I uploaded yesterday! Chalks are one of my favorites for putting color on paper. Here's one I did this morning--couldn't pass up this challenge (I'm home on vacation):

Thanks, Julia!

I decided to try a new technique since I use my chalks to soften the edges of most of the cards I make. I tried doing the marbled chalk technique, fun fun fun!!! Now I have marbled pieces of cs laying around waiting to be used on a card.

Here's my card

DS#2 says he doesn't like it 'cause it's too bright & cheery. What a grump!

After 3 days of very wet, gloomy weather, the sun is trying very hard to peek through the clouds today and I needed some bright colors. I also needed a thank you card for a customer, so I made one using poppin pastels. Here's my grateful pastels.

I had tried poppin' pastels before, and I didn'y really like that. I did like doing the technique a few weeks ago where you embossed then colored with the chalks.

So this time I just colored the image with the chalks---it turned out very soft and yet rich too---I really liked this. Thanks Julia for the challenge.

This challenge is EXACTLY why I love the weekly challenges, and SCS overall! I rarely use my pastels, and had forgotten how fun poppin' pastels can be! Thanks for the reminder

Since I didn't have time to create anything today, here is something from my gallery--a tile coaster, that uses pastels and blender pens. This is really about the only way I use my pastels anymore. After seeing all the beautiful cards, it makes me want to break mine out and try them again! Hopefully I will have time to make something tomorrow!

This was a fun challenge.

Here is a card I made today just for the challenge:
http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=86528

And another I made yesterday (inspired by a design by my up up upline, Glenda Travelstead) for my next workshop
http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=86528

And here is one I posted when I first tried the poppin' pastels technique. I know I need a sentiment, but I'm kind of saving that part for the last minute, depending on what I need it for
http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=86528

TFL!

Julia....that' a REAL challenge for me. I never get those out of my cabinet. They were still in shrink wrap. So I start up with an old faithful: Poppin' Pastels

Smile Double challenge

I was double inspired this week because when I worked on the inspiration challenge, I took out the chalks. I think the chalks were one of my first purchases when I first starting stamping. It was so great to get them out again!

Thanks for looking!
