Default WT678 ~ Spring Cleaning Time ~ {03/08/2018}

It's Sabrina here as your hostess this week - and with Spring round the corner for those of us in the Northern hemisphere (according to Irish tradition, it starts on February 1st. Ha!!!) I was thinking about Spring cleaning. Let's get our bleach out and try some techniques using them. I'm listing a few tutorials - and if you have another technique please feel free to use it and tell us about it.

Bleached Out Images

Stamping with Bleach In my experience the results seem to vary hugely depending on your cardstock! I've seen other people produce beautiful results.

Rainbow Craft

Watercolour Powders with Bleach (see step 6 in the tutorial)

For the purposes of this challenge I'm including Foxy Oxi

And if you don't actually have any bleach - two faux effects:

Colourless Blender Bleaching

Alcohol Ink Faux Bleach

I usually find that the fresher the bleach, the better it works.

Once you've used some bleach on your project upload it with the keyword WT678, and then come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card .
Now you can go and do some real spring-cleaning with your bleach...

Here's a link to our WT678 Spring Cleaning Time gallery

Here's a link to my sample: WT678 Oceans of Fun

If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.

Many thanks to Lisa ,Cathy, Carla and Toni for their beautiful and inspiring samples, covering a wide range of options.

Ha! When I saw the title, I thought we were going to clean stuff off our desks and use it on a card!

I love the look of bleached images but don't do it often because of the fumes - this is a project best done outside if the weather cooperates . . . . Here is my offering for today:

I think I had tried this before but it was a long time ago. I liked my results using brushos as a bg.

Smile WT678 Acts of Kindness

Sabrina- thank you for the "Spring Cleaning" challenge! I went with the bleached out images technique- embossing my leaves and roses, then using bleach spray cleaner- dried with a heat gun. Did some coloring with markers, fussy cut and matted my images, then added my sentiment. A fun challenge- and all with items around the house!! Here's Acts of Kindness

Hi Sabrina, thanks for the challenge...I used to stamp with bleach quite often but haven't for a long time. It also works really well on certain papers to crumple a paper towel and wet it with bleach them dab it on the paper, make a great decorative paper or bg.

Don’t do what I did and accidentally inhale the bleach fumes!

My bleach was really fresh and worked really well - first time I've ever tried using bleach on a card so thanks for the challenge! Here's my card:

I swapped all the floor cleaning products for some bleach to use on this card using this week's colours.
