Happy Thursday, everybody. It's Sabrina here as your hostess this week, and I want you to bring along your Faux techniques today - yes, truly!
There's a list of faux techniques far too long for me to list here, at least 37; just go to Tutorials and enter faux into the search field (I can't add the search results here, I've tried this before and Lydia tells me it doesn't work).
Here are some of my favourite ones, though, in no particular order:
If you use any of the techniques from the tutorials, make sure to post to the correct gallery, and also let us know which one you used. If you have your own favourite faux technique which isn't featured, feel free to use that too - but tell us about it so that we can try it out too!!
Thanks for getting faux this week. Upload your faux creation with the keyword WT648, and then come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card, and the hostesses particularly appreciate it.
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
My thanks to Lisa, Carla and Cathy for being such true team-mates and going all out with the faux this week. I hope their samples inspire you!
I had a lot of fun with the Faux Postage. My sponging was a bit off first time, but DH pulled off a miracle and got a transparency to print so I could cut a new mask. And I changed my stamp template up to everlasting stamps ;-).

This is gorgeous! (We call them "Forever" stamps over here.)
Believe I will try this "faux postage" technique you speak of.

Faux techniques are my FAVORITE!!! I'm like a kid in a candy store this morning. Must bring my son to the oral surgeon this morning, but I will be back to finish my card (or maybe cards...)
Great idea for a WT challenge, Sabrina. So many times I just do the same old thing and forget to check on technique ideas in this treasure trove of tutorials. Thanks.
Sabrina- thanks for the challenge! Faux leather with masking tape is a new technique for me- I used it to represent stone for my Lake Tahoe based golfer. Added a lower central trim with hand cut grass and a die cut mini tree with brad, topped with a gold sparkly border. Dedicated to my dad, a lifelong golfer! Here's Alpine Golfing

Ladies, you have really been rocking this! I wish I had all day tomorrow to stamp, you are really inspiring me with all your wonderful faux creations, some are techniques I haven't used in a long time.
Thanks Sabrina for a great challenge and there's lots of tips and turorials...can't wait to try. Happy day

I had never done faux mother-of-pearl before. It's so stinkin' easy!! I think I may make a stack of background panels...I see lots of fun cards in my future. Thanks Sabrina!
Great challenge. I was cutting up an old magazine to use with the mixed media print challenge so I decided to double up and do Faux Cloisonn as well. Here's my card.
