Also, another great way to do them is to use the cheap cardboard stencils you can get at walmart, Lowes, or most office supply stores. I have done a few scrapbook pages with them. I will scan them in when I get back.

Don't own monograms, so I created one using several computer programs, including Paint to flip the image and print on cardstock. Cut out the reverse image so I could stamp the face. I also was playing with shaving cream today and tried using food colors. Other than the white and red corner where it didn't get color that was fine, except they just aren't as vibrant as reinkers.

I got one done, thanks to Jeanne Streiff. She sent me a couple of stamped K's. I don't have the stamp yet myself.

I don't know how y'all get things uploaded and posted so quickly. Seems like I've been working on this all morning. The sad part is the card was already made, so all I've been doing is trying to upload and wait for approval.

Default Phew!

So I saw that you could use monogram alphas OR headline alphabet. So I took a break from packing and whipped up these name frames for my neices and nephew. I made these for the girls upcoming birthday and for my nephew (no special occasion, it is just nice to have another boy in the family finally - we have 7 girls and only two boys)....

We are going on vacation with them and have to stop over at their new home on the way. I knew it would be easier to hand deliver them (rather than package and ship them).....

Here are Em, Ri and Liam's frames....

http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...60571&cat=4475

Now back to packing.....

Has anyone seen my sunhat?

Ladies I have to tell you that all of your cards are Great! How in the world do you cut them out so well. I do not have any of the monograms yet and after this morning I will not be ordering them. I thought I would do a faux "B" and what a nightmare to cut it out. How do you ladies cut the letters out so well. Some of you even stamp them, cut the letter out and mount on another sheet and cut again. What is the trick? I tried using m craft blade and my small snips. It looks horrible and I can usually do a pretty good job of cutting. Any advise would be appreciated. HELP

Verda - It just takes patience. The curves can be tough. Just take your time! Practice with the faux monograms. Good luck!

Take your time. Use sharp scissors. Turn the paper as you cut.

I 've been trying to upload my card this afternoon but no luck. I used a coluzzle swivel knife to cut out my letter and the matting. It is not perfect , but not bad either for the first try. Go slowly and try simple letters to start with. Good luck!

Well, I finally finished mine. I was thinking about getting more of these letters, but after working with this, I may rethink that. I do not like the intricate cutting that many of you do, not just once, but usually 2 times when you mat one of these big letters.

Here's sweet & sassy friends.

Default Thank You Beth

Without Beth's encouragement after throwing my first attempt in the trash I would have quit trying. However, this faux monogram turned out ok. I quickly realized I am not a person who can double mount these letters. I need a definate line to cut on. Computer generated the letter, printed it in reverse and outline only and cut on the back side to produce a reasonable looking letter.http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...00&ppuser=7663

I am in the process of making an entire alphabet for notecards. So the "monogram" doesn't stand for a person's name. So far there are the words autumn, birthday, cherish, daffodil..... (maybe I'm up to a G?).
Here is one I posted in early March. Used the word "grace" and later gave the card to my friend so she could write to her sister, Grace.

Wow! I finally got to do a challenge this week. I only have some MM foam letters, so that had to work for the "monogram" concept. I'm way to lazy to try and faux one! This was fun. I don't use letters as much as I should. Thanks for hosting Julia!

Now I get to check out what everyone else did today...off to surf the gallery.

Smile G is for Grapes

Made one more tonight. G is for Grapes
It was hard to fit the really big stamp and the really big letter G together. BUT -- I love the whole monogram idea. I'm having lots of fun browsing through all the cute cards.
