WT549 - What's Your Birthstone? (9/17/15)
Hello everyone! It's Thursday and that means it's time for another Ways To Use It Challenge. I love the month of September. Not only is it the beginning of my favorite season, but it is also my birth month. A Sapphire happens to be the birthstone for the month of September. To find your birthstone, check out these web sites:
Birthstones By Month
Wikipedia
Your challenge is to make a card with the color of your birthstone plus one neutral. Happy crafting!
After you upload your card with the keyword WT549, come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card.
The WTUI team has some samples to get you started…can you believe that three of us have a sapphire for our birthstone!
Sabrina - Feeling Blue
Lisa - Christmas Snowflake
Linda - Emerald
Cathy - We Three Kings
Here's a link to the Birthstone Gallery!
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.

Two alternate birthstones for the month of October are aquamarine and coral. Would love to see you play along, Neva!

My birthstone is Topaz and I'm not fond of it, but I do like yellow on cards, so here's my card: IT'S YELLOW

My Birthday is in November; so my stone is Topaz. My birthday falls on Thanksgiving this year ... guess that makes me the turkey of the family! Giggles!!

WT549 amethyst
I am also a february birthday girl, and I went with a floral tulip wide ribbon, and a botanical style print, along with a sewn heart. Added a burgundy tie, and a hand written sentiment. Here's amethyst

Mine is topaz which turned out to be a tricky colour to match. Here's what I came up with:

My card is for the Blue Topaz which is also a December birthstone. The ring in the picture with my card is the first ring my husband ever bought me before we were officially engaged.
