WT49 - Ink it up and play along
I just bought some new reinkers and realized that I haven't used them in a while for anything but inking my ink pads. There are so many great techniques and ideas out there for using reinkers. This week the challenge is to find ways to use reinkers in your creations. Have fun and try something new or something you haven't done in a while. As always, share any tips you have. Also, this is not a contest or a race so have fun and post as many creations as you like for as long as you like. I keep getting people saying it is "late"...there is no time limit.
Below I have attached a document with lots of ideas that I picked up somewhere.
Have fun and don't forget to put WT49 in your keywords section when you upload and to post a link back here so that we can all view your creations.
Here is my card...

Happy inking,

Awesome Challenge! I did this one a long while ago but this challenge gives me an excuse to do it again. I miss the stained glass technique. Be back later with a new one.

Thanks for the list of things to do with re-inkers. It's great! We did a polished stone project at a Stamp Camp I had this past weekend so here it is:

Julia - thanks for the awesome resource! I've been dying to try the baby wipe background, so today is my day. I'm home "sick" from work (cough, cough) and plan to play a lot. Oh boy!

Thanks Julia for the list of great techniques with reinkers. I only have orange, gold, and celadon (all non-SU colors), so I'm not sure what that might produce. But I just might give it a try. Thanks for posting!

Oooo, sounds like fun! I've never done much with my refills other than reinking pads. I'll have to try something I haven't done before. I bought Future & Baby Wipes, but haven't used either yet. Great challenge, Julia.

Barbra, see my message to Wendy. Use your stamp pads. Turn upside down and press against the lid. You'll get little tiny dots of color. Use an aqua pen or regular paint brush with water and you can water color. The more you press, the more color you will get. You can also use this method with baby wipes.

I made two backgrounds with this challenge. The first is my kinda shaving cream (dh only had gel). I also tried marbles, but haven't made a card with that yet. Only had 2 colors of re-inkers (if you don't count black and white). Here's my first go. I like it!

Well, this sounds interesting. The only thing I've ever done with reinkers is polished stone. Will try something new. Jeanne, great sales for only 4 ladies. My daughter has a party tonight and there's supposed to be 3 or 4. Don't think she'll get anywhere close to that.

It's me again with a couple questions. I was going to print a copy of the reinker technique and it says it can't be printed. I was just wondering why. Would be nice to have it. Also, would someone pm me the directions to post a thread in the forum? Thank you in advance for letting me know.

Emily, when I've done acetate & tissue, I didn't take the tissue off the acetate. The acetate was part of the card. Pretty much like caught in crystal (with Future), but it ended up thicker. I suppose it depends on what you're using as your glue. Some may pull apart easier than others. I've used white glue (like Elmer's) and Mod Podge.

I finally finished one. Did caught in crystal for the 1st time. Kinda time consuming with all the drying in between steps. I'm sure part of the 'time' is reading the directions to find out what the next step is. I think there is too much black on the card, but I'm not going to change it. Here's my crystal birthday. See, I do have other stamps beside chickens!

Came home from work and tackled the the challenge. Like the background and since it's really what the challenge is about I posed. Otherwise, I am not very happy with it. I just borrowed this set from a friend to make a set sampler for March, not sure this will be one of them.
//www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=229535&cat=3448
This one came to me after reading that WendyG only has black for a reinker. Hope it might have even worked in the humor challenge. The sentiment is from a song that always gets stuck in my head. http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=14062
