Well i didn't think I would do the challenge but wanted to do the sketch challengee so my chipboard piece actually came in good use for today's challenge.

Colors look better IRL as I used reinker with acrylic paint to get it to match my card. tfl

Thanks for the challenge, Julia. It was very good to unpack the paints and experiment.

Here is my submission.

I've been wanting to make a card with the transparency - finally got around to it today - paired it with the paint challenge - thanks for helping us stretch!!

Here you go: //www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...00&ppuser=5711

Someone mentioned earlier that they don't like to look at everyone's work until they've finished their project - I completely agree - it's hard not to peak - but I'm glad I'm done so I can browse around now.........

Anyway, what I am using to play with is the Twinkling H2Os ... I have no clue what they are. A friend introduced them to me and I love them for both me and the grandkids ... lol, they don't spill Tell me what acrylic paint is. Can I use my Twinkling H2Os?

Welcome to SCS and welcome to the challenges, DiKnight! I had to chuckle reading your post... I've so been there, girl! After reading your post, I looked at the # of posts you've had on SCS... well, then I just LOL! You really are clueless, aren't you dear? (and again... trust me, I've so been there! Still feels like I am most of the time. he.)

Acrylic Paints are mostly used on wood or metal surfaces. Some very bright stamper/scrapbooker discovered these paints also work on card stock and work beautifully. You can find them in the craft stores or craft sections with the raw wood pieces. Some craft supply companies have started making acrylics especially designed for paper crafting. These can be found in the same aisles as your stamps and things.

I'm sure no one will mind you using your "twinkles" since you don't have any acrylics. I, personally, would love to see your work. Go for it!

Thanks for the help I found out (told you I am clueless about paint) that my ceramic paints I haven't used in years are acrylic lol ... but I started with the H2Os, so will stay with those and do another one with the actual acrylic paints. The H2Os that I am using leave the picture quite nice at it 'glows' or twinkles or something with glitter or like a metallic glaze on it

Here is my attempt at using "real paint". What a mess. I promised myself no matter how bad this turned out I was going to post it. I didn't make it into a card as I would never give it to anyone. I am proud of myself for stretching and trying something new and I am energized from the process even though my outcome is pitifully below average.

Julia, I had so much fun with this challenge, and was so inspired by all the great ideas posted to the gallery using paint.

I had to do another one. I started it last night but couldn't keep my eyes open long enough to finish it. lol

So, here is my card for the paint challenge, as well as Jen's limited supplies:

Karen's Kard

I appreciate you taking the time to look! Have a great weekend!
