WT120 - Ribbon Revisted

An easy challenge for you this morning, after the holiday! :) Today's Ways to Use it Challenge is a rerun and today your challenge is to use ribbon on your designs. Use some orgrandy, gingham, velvet, grosgrain...there is a ton of stunning ribbon out there! Now most of us love ribbon and use it all the time...so if you do, try and think up something that you don't do that often. Something new would be awesome too!

Please remember to put WT120 in your keyword section when you upload and to post a link back here when you are done so that we can all see your work!

For this challenge...please ONLY link new creations or we will all be linking up most of our galleries! LOL Thanks!

A few samples...

Trudee's sample - Jolies Fleurs

See, this is why I love your challenges, Julia!! I LOVE ribbon...I HAVE ribbon...I never use it enough!! This is going to be Grrrreat! (said with Tony the tigers enthusiasm!

Also, I picked up the current copy of Stamp It yesterday and who's name did I see beside one of the best cards in the Mag??!!! Very cool, Julia! it's always nice to see familiar names being published!!! You rock!!!!

imastampin 07-05-2007 05:48 AM

I hurriedly got one done before anyone else woke up! I hope you like it.

My Motifs are honorable

kimreid_stamper 07-05-2007 05:50 AM

Here are two! The first one I did today using a new spool of narrow cotton twill (I hope that counts as ribbon). I know it's a quick one, but I gotta play quick today, or I can't play at all!!! :o(

Welcome Baby Giraffe

This second one I did a couple of days ago and I used a brand new spool of gorgeous pink ribbon that was a gift to me from a Secret Wish-RAK member and I used it in a way I've never used ribbon before (although I"m sure you all have done it this way).....three ties on one end. I was really happy with the way it turned out and it fits the challenge, so I thought I'd share it too....hope that's okay.

You're TUTU Sweet!

faithyc 07-05-2007 05:58 AM

For this challenge I added the bonus challenge for myself to use ribbon in two different ways. Thanks for the great challenge Julia!

Grass-Grain Congrats

lacyquilter 07-05-2007 06:51 AM

And here I thought that ribbon was just supposed to sit on the shelf and be admired! You mean we're actually supposed to use it on cards? GASP...! Thanks, Julia.

~CA~ 07-05-2007 06:52 AM

I'll play when I get home tonight, late. Thanks Julia, you are awesome!

lbirus 07-05-2007 06:52 AM

Yippe skippy! I got one posted on the actual day of the challenge!!!

Here's a great little idea for ribbon that... of course.... I picked up here... lots of you guys use it...(I know Badsherry uses it alot)!!!

I just took a small piece of coordinating ribbon and layed it in the knot before I did the second part of the knot.... voila.... a second color without using much ribbon.

Harmony with a Pop of Red

Such great ideas on this place!!!!

juliemcampbell007 07-05-2007 07:00 AM

This is my card that I made today using Zoofari. I used my computer to print onto grosgrain ribbon!

KatydidAW 07-05-2007 07:07 AM

OK, so I didn't do anything earth-shattering with my ribbon--but I did pick the ribbon first and built the card around it, rather than choosing a ribbon to match my card. So--it was a challenge! ;) I really think it turned out cute...Thanks for the challenge!

Ok, did another one!!!

dpierstamper 07-05-2007 07:16 AM

I used the frayed ribbon technique--not one I usually use, but that's cause it is so hard to handle all those loose threads until I get them tied up again.

here's mine
