Yes, it’s Thursday....whoohoo....which means that it’s the Ways To Use It Challenge. It’s Jayne here. This is my first time at hosting this challenge, and I’m excited and honoured to be joining Sabrina and her team. Join our challenge, have some fun and let us show you ways on how to stretch your stash further. Let the fun begin!
Today we are going to get spooked! Think ghosts, cobwebs, spiders, witches, fairies...in fact think of anything that spooks you. It may be that stamp or die set that you’ve given up on and scares you every time you see or use it, or perhaps a technique, otherwise think of military spy’s. Just let your imagination and creativity flow. Your project can either be a card, a scrapbook or journal page, a tag. Anything goes and hopefully we can inspire you to play!
For my samples I chose the “ghosting technique” obtaining inspiration from videos I had watched previously (Jennifer McGuire and other artists on Youtube). For one sample I used white, black and coloured inks, and for the other I used alcohol inks.
If you would like to learn more about this technique, check this tutorial out on SCS for inspiration:
When uploading your project, remember to use the keyword WT816 so we can see your creation in the gallery. It also helps if you link your project on the Ways to Use It thread too.
Our team has lots of inspiration for you each Thursday.
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how: 1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread 2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link. 3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on) 4. Click EDIT. Click COPY 5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
A big thank you to Sabrina, Lisa and Cathyfor their beautiful creations and take on my challenge today.
Join in and have some fun with us. Happy Thursday.

Yay! Great challenge, Jayne.I used the ghosting tutorial and then finally, after two years of occasional attempts, finally produced something I was happy with using Lift Ink. Thanks for the metaphorical kick in the rear via this challenge.
And, hmmm, I saw last night that Dina has a tutorial called Ghost Stamping in the Tutorials section. I don't even remember that. I might try that later. Ghost Stamping Tutorial - Splitcoaststampers
For today's spooky challenge I overlaid a spooky tree image over a plastic bag, adding die cut spiders, black cats and ghosts in its branches. The witch is from the kids' childhood Halloween decorations. Here's Spooky Tree gift bag

Here's my card! Such a great challenge Jayne! Thanks for suggesting Jennifer McQuire's YouTube video. This is the first time "ghosting technique" worked for me. Hugs!
Thank you for this fun challenge, Jayne! I followed the ghosting technique that I found on a video by Loll Thompson. It was super easy and fun. Here's my card:
God demonstrated His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us ... being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Romans 5:8 & 9
Jayne, my first two panels that I made with the "ghosting" technique were ocean backgrounds. I had forgotten that the card was to be spooky, but I like how the ghosting technique turned out on my back ground. So here's my card:
I’m loving all the cards everyone is making. Thank you so much for playing. Happy day and hugs
Ps.....remember, the challenge is to get spooked....not necessarily a spooky card but just using something in your stash that has previously “spooked” you...or a technique that you’ve never quite mastered and puts you off trying again.
So far you have all nailed it. Thanks again
