WT679 - Strip It (3/15/18)
Hello everyone and welcome to this week's WTUI Challenge! I have to confess that I have a serious problem...I have trouble throwing away those small strips of paper I end up with after trimming my card panels...especially the patterned paper strips. I have a whole file box filled with these strips. Can anyone relate? It's time to use some of those paper strips!
Your challenge today is to grab some of your paper strips and use them on your card. If you don't have a stash of paper strips, you can still participate...just cut some strips and use them. Let's "Strip It" and fill the gallery with cards created with paper strips.
Here are a couple tutorials that use paper strips:
Bargello Technique
Herringbone
Here is my card: Because He Lives
Sabrina, Lisa, and Toni have more fabulous samples to inspire you...just check out the thumbnails below.
Here's a link to the WT679 Strip It Gallery
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE

WT679 Snowflake words
Cathy- my favorite Ways To Use It challenge I believe! I had bits and pieces of solids and some dotted papers collected- so I used those with some modge podge to adhere them to my cardstock (also used for my fabric strip background). Gave it some texture with a snowflake embossing folder, and finished with some reverse stencils. Here's Snowflake words

I've done weaving with strips over the years but decided today to try something totally new for me so went for the Bargello technique - a little time consuming and a lot of gluing but I do like the results! Here's my card:

I've been keeping strips for a while now, so this was a welcomed challenge so I could play with them again.
