WT750 ~ Impress Me! (July 25, 2019)
Happy Thursday! Carla, here as this week's Ways to Use It Challenge hostess and I want you to Impress Me! Let's ink up those embossing folders and texture plates to get some extra mileage from one of my favorite stamping tools.
You can drag an inkpad across the folder. But I've found I get the best coverage, using a brayer to apply the ink. Below are a few SCS tutorials for inspiration.
Embossed Folder Stamping
Faux Letterpress
Faux Patina
Embossed Kisses
Double Embossed Enamel
When you've finished your creation, upload your card with the keyword WT750 and then come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card. It's especially appreciated by the hostesses!!
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
Here's the link for our WT750 gallery. Take a look and spread some love around by leaving comments for your fellow crafters!
Thank you, Lisa, Sabrina and Toni for the marvelous samples and inspiration!
Here's my card, WT750 Swimming Lessons.

Wow, Carla, I just bought 18 new embossing folders over the weekend that I found at TM for $1.49 a piece. I love my hundreds of folders that I have and love all these many uses for them. I am going to have lots of fun with your challenge today and tomorrow. I can see this turning into days of fun actually.

I forget about these techniques, but they are so terrific for creating bgs. I used the embossed folder stamping for my bg. Thanks, Carla.

Well - I'm not totally happy with my card but after ditzing around most of the afternoon trying some of the other techniques (which failed miserably) - I finally got an okay card with the faux letterpress technique - My sons 5th anniversary is coming up next week and this needs to get in the mail! Their wedding colors were gold & Tiffany Blue so wanted to get as close to revisiting that combo as possible.

I attempted the Embossed Folder Stamping technique. It took me 3 tries before I got a piece I could use. The other 2 are sitting on my craft table waiting for inspiration to strike! Here is my card.

Hi Carla
I had a list of challenges that I wanted to go in starting with Jeanne's sunny skies. When I saw your challenge I knew straight away that I wanted to make a sunny day card using an EF I had which I inked up and watercolored.
DTGD19imcaree - Sunny Thoughts for Stacy by Ozpom - at Splitcoaststampers
Thank you for this challenge. I will be using this technique a lot as it came together so quickly. Happy day

I am playing my "Challenge Catch-up" cardmaking. It was fun to see Carla back hosting a challenge since it was an oldie!
I delicately inked the raised portion of the embossing folder as I wanted the dotted clouds outlines to be gray. Then I used a blending brush to add a little gray tone to the background was well. I went to all this trouble because I wanted to use my White Metallic Shimmer paper for this panel.
Here is my card: Let's Party With Dinosaurs!
