Howdy all, It's Sabrina here as your hostess this week.
Marion Mitchell Morrison, better known as John Wayne, died on June 11th 1979, and we are marking that today by "Going West" with our cards. Don't worry if you don't have any Western-themed images. It's quite alright if you add a touch of the West in other ways. Here are some suggested tutorials/techniques to help you out . Faux Leather with Masking Tape Faux Stamped Leather Bandanna Technique (old TLC, description of technique in first post) Faux Denim (old TLC, description of technique in first post) When you've arrived out West, upload your card with the keyword WT535, and then come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card . Here's a link to our WT535 Go West! gallery Here's a link to my sample: WT535 Howdy Happy Birthday Lisa made a fabulous sample with her own hand-drawn cowboy boot!! And Cathy has added some fun details to set the scene for her Western sweetie. If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how: 1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread 2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link. 3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on) 4. Click EDIT. Click COPY 5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE. |
What a fun challenge, Sabrina! Here's my card:

WT535 Moose You So Much
For my 2nd card, I thought of Yellowstone- and moose. We actually spotted one on our trip in May. I gave my moose silly googlie eyes and a simple woodgrain background. Dedicated to my dad in California :)

Kickin' up your heels
I made this for my MIL for her birthday. She goes country western dancing every week.

What a fun challenge, Sabrina, thanks for thinking of it! It's fun to do a guy card for a change of pace, and it even gave me a reason to use a couple of new stamps that were begging for ink. ;)
Here's a cowboy theme that I made today: WT535 CAS328 Cowboys on Rail Fence by Boss - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers |
