It's Sabrina here as your hostess this week. I'm just coming to the end of a camping holiday in the south of France, so I will be late commenting on your uploads this week, please bear with me. It will have to wait till I get back home at the weekend.
For a midsummer challenge, as we strip off layers of clothing, I thought we would use strips of paper on our cards.
Of course you can use them in any way you like, simply adding a couple of strips of paper to create a frame, or weaving with them if you're patient. But we also have a couple of tutorials I'd like to suggest, and also and old TLC from Joan Ervin - yikes, I couldn't believe how far back I had to go to find it, but it was a great technique and one I have used several times since.
Whatever way you choose to use your strips, come back and upload your creation with the keyword WT642, and then come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card , especially the hostesses.
I started out by making a herringbone background, and since I cut too many strips, went on to make a bargello one too. But there's no doubt that it's easier if your strips are a little wider as Joan suggests in the tutorial!
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how: 1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread 2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link. 3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on) 4. Click EDIT. Click COPY 5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
My thanks to Cathy, Lisa, Carla and Toni for creating inspirational samples to stir your creativity, and to Carla for making the challenge live for me in my absence.
Sabrina, I hope your camping holiday has been marvelous! Thanks for the inspiration to try the Bargello technique. I'll definitely try it again. Here's my card, Have a Rosie Birthday!
Sounds like you had a FABULOUS holiday, Sabrina. Good to see you back. Loved your challenge today....something I never think of doing, but it is fun. Thanks.

Sabrina and Audrie; I had the bg of this card done a couple of days ago, but never put anything together with it. I felt it would be good for both challenges! Thanks for the inspiration!
