Everyone welcome! - WT14 - Ways to Use It Challenge
It's Thursday again and time for another Ways to Use It Challenge. This week I'm going to make it so everyone should be able to play. It's almost time for the new catalogue and I'm getting very excited about it. Before we all get new stamps, let's go back and try and use the old ones that we never use. We alll have stamps that get pushed to the back of the drawer just because they are not the latest thing or because we bought them and now have no idea how to use them. Since you last used them, you probably have learned new layouts, techniques and color combos. I love to look at the sketch challenge sheets when I am stuck for ideas. There is also the technique tutorial section here on SCS if you need ideas. Also, If you are really stuck with a stamp set, let us know and perhaps someone here can help you out. Have fun with those RARELY USED STAMPS and I am looking forward to what you come up with!
Please remember to put WT14 in the keywords section and post a link back on this thread.
Happy stamping,
Julia
PS Feel free to make lots of card and you don't have to stick with just one set.
This will be a good one. I have about ten sets that I never use. Most are those that I bought and just don't know what to do with them now. Hmmm.... guess I better get stamping huh?
Here is one to start with though. I did this one almost a week ago for a swap I am in. I bought this set two years ago and this is the first time I used it. I'll post more later but here is this one. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

I think this will be a great one - now that I'm back into my stamp room I can get back into the challenges, of course I'll have to get through my work day first!
Stipple Celebrations is definately one of those RARELY USED stamp sets for me. I have such a tough time with everything but the birthday cake. I've often thought of trading it, but for some reason, I keep hangin' onto it. Thanks for the tip about thinking of new techniques. I'll try and think of more this evening. This is what I came up with so far:
I'm cracking up at some of the comments I'm getting on my card... and I'm flattered, too, that people are enjoying it!
FIREWORKS.......... That's what I was thinking when making this Fourth of July card! But I do agree, it is a nice change from the traditional red, white, and blue. I love our patriotic colors... but a change from the ordinary is good!
Here's mine. I have only used this set once! I also tried the Foxy Oxi technique and it didn't come out right but still made a cool effect. Thanks for the challenge.
I've had this set I think for at least 6 years and haven't touched it in ages. The only reason I still have it is because it refuses to be retired. I haven't felt great today. I have this sinus thing going on so I was trying to cheer myself up.
I recently figured out how to make shaker cards so....I had to try it with the little bottle. LOL!
I didn't know it when I uploaded it this evening, but the card I made for this week's color challenge (CC15) also fits this one as I pulled out an older set I haven't used in ages, Friendships Grow.
Well, I did it. This has been the first weekly challenge that I have done that I have been able to scan. I bought these two stamps back at Easter. I had ordered the JellyBean Prayer from TAC, but it hadn't come yet, so I had to rush out and buy these two. I love the stamps, but I just never was able to come up with something I liked for them. So, this is what I decided to pull out for the challenge this week. Here's the link:
Mine is up. I used Peace on Earth (but I think I listed it as joy to the world LOL!) set as I tend to only use this in December and it is one of my older sets. It's also a pocket card, but not like the sketch for this week.
I just thought I would share a way that I found to use the terrific tulips set to make a Fish card. It was definitely a different way to look at the standarduse of this stamp set, and surprisingly, it took very little time to make it!
Here's my card, sorry to say I needed a sympathy card. I used the praying hands stamp I bought years ago after I first started stamping and forgot I even had until about a month ago. It was one of those bargain basket stamps at either Walmart or JoAnn's, I don't remember which. I think it will express my prayers and thoughts for the grieving family. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

I got Mini Medleys for Christmas..I don't know if I've ever used it, but know I haven't used the star. I also used the Classic Alphabet which I got in March but haven't really used either.
This is a card that I made for the Limited supplies challenge that works here too.

I did this one last week but forgot to post it here. I used my very underused Roughin' It set. It's a pocket card, so I posted it for the sketch challenge too, so you may have seen it already.
First time for me for this challenge and I'm barely making the deadline but here is one that I made yesterday.
Both the Sunflower and Nature's Seasonal Borders have been retired for some time now. The sunflower I still use often but the borders are very time consuming and even though I really wanted it, I seldom use it.
Julia, I think this challenge has made me decide to sell it and have money for the new sets! But at least I used it! The card is here
When the Sparking Summer set came out last year, I HAD to have it - but haven't used it much. I tried some Glitter Glue on this, but the scan doesn't do it justice. And, of course, I had to work in the Color Challenge for the week too!
I was looking for a small "Thanks" and found this one. Yes, it is wood mounted and forgotten:( Now, I'll probably need to use the rest of the stamp set!) Thanks for the challenge, and for taking the time to peek at my card!
