WCW203 Creating depth in our painting 04-17-2024

Good evening crafters. This week we are doing the technique of layering to create depth in our paintings. You can do any painting you would like to do. We are doing a technique of layers to create this look. The video is simple and shows us her way of adding depth.
I hope you enjoy this challenge and have fun doing your original creation. I remember when first starting to watercolor and only doing a few layers and the image looked flat. Adding the darker shadows where the light doesn't hit makes a difference. Come back and link your painting and add any tips you have doing this technique.

Always fun when I get to paint. And especially when I get to use new paints.Orange tutorial

Inspired by my "Jupiter" orange, I decided to try another one. Red pepper

Since I doubt if anyone who commented on the texture of my orange will look back in my gallery, I will put this comment here. I think the texture is due more to the paint I used than my expertise. I love to try out new paints so I am always buying dot samples or small sets to try. I have found every paint is a little different. The paint I used to paint the orange (and the pepper) is my newest paint, White Nights by Nevskaya Palitra from Russia.. (Yes I found them on Amazon.) Many of the colors are slightly granulating.
