Hello! Welcome to Watercolor Wednesday! Today we are going to do a mix of techniques. We are going to start with the Wrinkle Free Distress Technique. Then we will stamp with Distress Ink. Next, we will add splatter. Debby Hughes puts it all together for us in this stunning video tutorial! I can't wait to see what you create!
Please help me say farewell for now to our fabulous challenge hostess, Brenda! Brenda has an injury that is sidelining her for now. We hope that she will be able to join us again in the future. With the unhappy news mentioned, I will switch gears and bring you happy news! We are welcoming, Stacy, (JBGreendawn) to the Watercolor Wednesday team! We are thrilled to have her, so please give her a warm welcome.

Interesting and relaxing video by Debby. Thanks, Angie. My first result with stamping/misting did not please me(maybe it was the image I chose), but I had to grab my watercolors and "fix" it. I realize my card is not in the true spirit of the challenge. Guess I like to watercolor with watercolors. : ) Sorry about Brenda's injury, she will be missed. Sure Stacy will be a watercolorist extraordinaire!
I couldn't stop at one so I made two using some of my favorite colors. This was fun..there was so much spritzing with water in between I kind of forgot if I had spritzed or not!
We are all hoping Brenda's recovery goes quickly for her.
So, I did a thing. ( don't feel bad Sallie) mine does not look at all like the sample in Debby's video. and I have thought about it a lot since then I think I know why.
(she used a botanical stamp) and every time I have ever misted a stamp like she did I either did blooms or leaves.
well me, I reached into my basket of has not been inked and fished out a snowflake set from last stamptember. ( yeah that's a thing) and its very hard edges like wrought iron looking snowflakes not swirly organic ones. and I think I ended up with something that looks more Mixed Media than watercolored but, it does have Gouache on it so, there was a tiny bit of paint.
So here is mine.
Welcome Stacy - great addition. I am definitely going to try this over the weekend, Angie. What a fab video and two very talented artists showcased.
