WCW002 - Watercolor Wednesday June 10, 2020
Date: June 10, 2020 Challenge: Watercolor Wednesday Keyword: WCW002 Technique: Water coloring with ink pads or reinkers Welcome to our second challenge week. You can find the tutorial by Dina here. Watercoloring with Dye Inks Tutorial - SplitcoaststampersShe actually has three ways to use inkpads on this tutorial. She gives fantastic information on using your inkpads. Personally I have watched it numerous times, and learn something new. She explains wet on wet, glazing and many other ideas. Our team, Kia, Brenda, Angie and I would like you to make a card trying one of them. Watercoloring using any medium is putting down layers of colors until you achieve the look you want. Be patient, don't stop at one layer. You will get depth with more layers. Fair warning, it gets additive. Have fun. Thanks to all you joined us last week for the first challenge. Amazing cards were in the gallery. GalleryWCW002 - Homemade Cards, Rubber Stamp Art, & Paper Crafts - Splitcoaststampers.comUpload your card using the keywords: WCW002

Joanne, using the markers is just one more medium to use. Dina mentioned the markers in the video. They are water based like the ink pads. Your card is wonderful.

Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this watercolor challenge to fruition! I have always admired watercolor cards and tried a number of times, but failed. This is just what I need to get me on the right track. Here is my card for WCW002.

Hello
I love this new challenge!!!
The video was great, and I loved this challenge. I used Distress inks and used 2 colors for each color (2 pink, 2 purples, 2 greens).
I made 2 cards using Watercoloring, on one I combined the colors for the background wash- and shocked it did not turn to mud : ) and the 2nd backdrop is card touched to the left over ink- I really love that with the watercolor image fussy cut on it.
Pink and Purple for Sandy
Water color washing - I like this kind of washing (who needs clean clothes anyway....lol )....

Since "the masters" here seemed to choose more floral images, I decided to try one more - petals and leaves were certainly less stressful than tiny inanimate objects. If I keep at this perhaps it will feel more natural in say 8 or 9 years . . LOL
