Hello and welcome to Watercolor Wednesday! This week I have chosen a fun and easy watercolor tutorial. We are simply painting a heart! For my heart I die cut the heart shape but feel free to freehand! I also changed my color palette to Fall colors because I can't seem to get enough of warm colors right now!
You can paint in your journal or make your art into a card. Just have fun and I can't wait to see what you create!. I might be away from internet for a few days and even without data so as soon as I can, I will post my card and comment on your beautiful art! I have attached my sample since I may not be able to post it in the gallery for a few days.
The techniques I think should be the simplest often turn out to be the hardest for me - could be I overthink them but I am loving all the challenges the WCW team throws at us and growing in this medium.
Wow, these hearts look beautiful. I am hoping to have time this week to jump in. Ironically, I am taking a WC class which is sucking up all of my time. With multiple paintings and technique pages due each week I'm not left with much time. Boo! But I'm gonna try this week.
I am back! I was hoping NOT to miss Watercolor Wednesday but plans fell differently than I hoped. I will say it's very odd to be almost completely unconnected to the world! We hiked up a ridge and on the top of the ridge I sent out a quick message and received a phone call and a half dozen messages!
So here is my Painted Heart and now I am off to see what everyone created this week!
Angie, this was such a great challenge. I've had my heart made since the Oct 21. I was considering which sentiment to use with it. I'm so pleased with how this turned out. Really enjoyed the challenge. I do find if you are going to use a pencil on watercolor paper you really must use the lightest of touches which i thought i did but i can see i will need to be even lighter handed. 50 years
