~VSBN CRUISE JUNE 2008~
How many of you have always wanted to go on a cruise, but either don't have the time or money? Or how many of you have gone on cruises and want to go on another and don't have the money or time?? Well we are giving you the solution to your problems!
Couple of reasons why you need to go on this cruise:
1. It's exciting and new.
2. You remember Julie, Doc, Gopher, Isaac, and Captain Stubing?
3. You haven't had a vacation since who knows when.
4. The closest you've gotten to a cruise was when you saw the movie Titanic.
5. You've finally finished your son's 4 year book and he just received his medical degree.
6. You'll be able to use those cool travel stickers.
*On June 21st, 28th and 29th, 2008, Celtichck30 (Christy) and Kerry3k (Kerry) are going to be your activity directors for a weekend cruise getaway!

What is this? Well, we had so many fabulous ideas for our cruise that we will be having a casual extension to our VSBN.
We will post the After party challenges by 7/13. So ,this will be after the deadline for posting/uploading your VSBN challenge pages. These will be an on your own scrappin' time with cruise related themes. We will not be on-line during these times. These challenges, like the Preview & VSBN, will be able to be completed with the time limits and you will be able to fit in any photo occassion not only cruise pics! We will also have judging on these challenges!
The AFTER PARTY page(s) will need to be submitted/uploaded by Friday 7/25 10pm EST in order to be in the judging.
Our Ports of Call (Hostesses) for a weekend packed full of fun are: arhawg, arinstamps, Buckeye Stamper, Celtichck30, Favorite Grandma, jluvssu, Kerry3k, Luv2Smile, Mary_Pat419, mholles, Misermom, putri, refinnej, Salster, sapphire1968, shastess, Vintage Redhead.
Your packing list (shopping list) will be posted soon.
So dig out your luggage, blow the dust off your passport, and clear your calendar for this great weekend.
*Preview VSBN will be on June 21st, 2008.
I don't know about anyone else, but I like to have flyers of upcoming dates on everything I want to attend or do (you should see the walls in my craft room!!!). So Kerry and I put this flyer together for you guys to put on your fridge or where ever, to remind you to join us for a great weekend!!

Yes, once we have the hostesses and they provide us with a supply list for their challenges we will post it.
It is real easy and you get to do this from home!
You read the challenges on VSBN days, create your pages, upload them to the gallery with the appropriate keyword for each challenge.
Many of us get friends to join too and chat while creating!
woo hoo! Super fun theme girls! I'll be around for the preview but up in the boonies (Adirondack Mountains) for the real thing :( wahhhh! No internet up there! I am looking forward to the preview then...
Fresshe, It is like the "tailgatiing party" for VSN, only the VSBN preview party takes place the weekend before the actual day, not the night before like VSN. At the preview party, challenges will be given just like the real thing, but not as many--I think.
I'm getting so excited. I've had a hard couple of weeks at work but we went camping this weekend and now I'm all relaxed. I got great pictures to use as a sample for my challenge Can't wait.

I am going to visit my home town over memorial day weekend for the 100th anniversary of my high school. It is going to be a fun weekend with people from all the different years so I will be taking lots of pictures.
Oh my, what fun. Really looking forward to playing. I have a month to get organized and make my 'cruise' plans! Thanks ladies.

I have been so good scrapping my photos this month that I will need to start taking more pics for the cruise or dig out ALL the ones still in boxes from years gone by.
Oh, this sounds like such fun. I have never done a VSBN before either - however, I have done the VSN, so this should be similar. Do you think if I told my husband I was going on a cruise and it wasn't going to cost me anything, he would believe me?

Boy this sounds like so much fun and I want to do it, but I'm busy that weekend. I'm new to Splitcoast and I really don't understand what VSBN is. Do I have to do and submit the pages ONLY that weekend, or can I do and submit them another time. Please someone enlighten me.

You can do the challenges anytime. In order to be in the judging for each challenge you have deadlines on when you will have to upload your page(s).
For the preview June 21st submit/post your page(s) by Thursday 6/26 by 10pm EST.
For the VSBN weekend June 28th & 29th submit/upload your page(s) by Friday 7/11 at 10pm EST.
We operate on the honor system and for the challenges you will have either 1 hr , 1 1/2 hrs , or 2 hrs to complete each one. If the challenge is a mini challenge then you have 1 hr. Others are 2 hrs and on Sun 6/29 we have a couple that are 1 1/2 hrs.
There are VSBN rules (helpful hints and link attached, click on VSBN rules) posted on another thread by arhawg too that are great!
so we only get an hour to work on each mini? I'm in trouble.

Yup only 1 hour for the mini's....
But they were done for 1 hr so they shouldn't be too hard. Although if you get into that stamp n' stare (that I have been told I do) then you may be in a bit of trouble.:lol:

Ok, I have decided since we're "cruising" I am actually going to scrap my Honeymoon which was a CRUISE!! (LOL! ) I dug out all of the pictures and memoriabilia I could find and I'm hoping the topics will be applicable to using these pictures.
I have to admit....I've been married for over 20 years! It's time to get these picts in an album
