OCT08VSBN06 - Pass the Pigskin
I hope everyone is having fun so far... My challenge is as follows:
PASS THE PIGSKIN:
We all know footballs and baseballs are made out of leather. So my challenge to you is to make a page using the Faux Leather technique (and Im not talking about the masking tape one!).
I have done two styles of it.
The first style is my Lawrence Hurricanes page. I used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. Emboss your paper and rub the raised parts with ink.
If you dont have the Swiss Dots folder dont worry the next version is just as easy.
The second style is my Little Slugger page. I saw a similar page in the Memory Makers Magazine. I found a glove template online, enlarged it and cut out of Close to Cocoa paper. I then dampened the paper and scrunched it up. Let dry (if you are running low on time dry it with your heat gun). You could always skip the wetting and just scrunch it up. After flattening it I used chocolate chip, close to cocoa and pumpkin pie inks and rubbed onto the glove. Simple and easy.
BONUS POINTS:
Baseball & footballs have distinctive stitching. On both of my examples you will see some type of stitching. The footballs have the white threading. The baseball has the famous red stitching.
So my Bonus Challenge to you is to include some type of stitching on your page. It can be Faux, machine or hand stitching.

remember there are other colors of leather not just your brown or black.
also it doesn't have to be the whole page. I used "accents" on my pages.

Either way is ok. There's usually some kind of noise in the room. But sometimes I really like some piece and quite.
