Monday, 05/13 - VSBN Challenge 3 & 4 - My Mother Always Said
Welcome to our May 2013 VSBN - My Mother Always Said ...
This week, we'll chuckle over the fun things we remember our Mom and Grandma were always reminding us to do.
We'll also get some scrapping done with some fun inspiration!
Link your pages back to this thread so we can all ooohh and aaahhhh over the fun scrapbook pages we're getting done

FASHION MOM-ISM #3
Mother says: “I don’t care if everyone else gets to do it.”
Translation: You aren’t wearing makeup, your friends look like raccoons.
The dutiful daughter will wait until she has permission to wear makeup.
Practice your eyeliner application. Grab a favorite pen or marker and make a few marks on your page. Focus on little things like accent a photo corner, customize the letters of your title with dots, dashes or lines.
The wild child will grab a sharpie marker for eyeliner if it’s all she has. (LOL!)
Put your markers or colored pencils to good use. Doodle, yes that’s right, doodle on the page not just a small detail.

FASHION MOM-ISM #4
Mother says: “Get your hair out of your face.”
Translation: Find a comb or brush.
The dutiful child will comb their hair and look presentable
Go comb your hair ... you look great. Add a picture to your layout that you're in.
The wild child will go shave their head, they don't want to use no comb or brush!
Not to worry, this isn’t a crazy reality show, no head shaving (unless you want). Instead, show the world the good and bad. Try to add a photo or picture (creatively) that you would normally not choose. Maybe it's blurry, people funny pose, perhaps it's similar to one you already used ... crop it, diecut it, print it in a black and white/ sepia or just add it to the background.
Upload by Tuesday, 05/21/13. Be sure to use Key Word May13VSBN4D for this challenge.

I have a page ready for “Get your hair out of your face.” - Wild Child.
I will post it later today as the weather is not cooperating! It is too windy and high noon, not the best time for outdoor pictures. Outdoors gives me the best and truest color on my layout. There is only so much editing I can do!!!
I got the photo taken for this challenge, I had to wait till the wind died down a bit. I get better color when taking photos outside but the weather does not always cooperate.
Wild Child, use a photo that you would not normally use.
I love the effect I got when taking this photo. Don't ask how I did it because I don't know. It was just one of those things that happened.
Doodling, I don't know if it is a little or a lot but I did have fun. I like the dark lettering better than the dot around the light color paper. Funny, the pen was a dark blue Gelly roll pen but it turned white when dry. I guess that is one of the main reason I quit using those pens, they all ended up the same color when dry.
