Ah, the holidays. A break from the daily grind of To Do lists and work, right? Well, at least, its supposed to be. J In this challenge, I want us to all slow down a little bit. No, really. Slow down. There you go. Breathe. Deep, deep breath. Let it out. Let your shoulders drop down (weird how I knew they were tensed up, isnt it?). Open your eyes wide, take in the sights and smells and sounds around you. Okay, now youre ready for the Take Time Challenge. In this challenge, I want you to take at least two hours to make one layout. You read that right. Two hours. One layout. BUT you can take up to three. Look at your pictures, mull over your paper selections, figure out which kind of embellishment you want to spend some time on. If youve been wanting to try something new but didnt think you had the time for it, nows your chance.
For my example, I decided to play around with my new gold paint. And, since I dont have a Silhouette or Cricut yet (the holidays are coming!), I printed out individual letters, drew over their outline onto another piece of paper, and cut out letters individually. Sure, it took an hour just to get my letters done. But nobody else has letters like these in their scrapbook!
The side benefit of the Take Time Challenge is that, when youre focused on one thing for at least two hours, your brain gets to order itself. I was amazed at how many little things kept popping into my mind while I took this challenge. I thought through a long-standing problem with a girlfriend. Figured out how to take that next step with her. Thought through a difficulty in my work life. Determined a course of action with that. Planned out Christmas gift ideas. While the left side of my brain put together a layout, the right side sorted through life. Cool, eh?
When you upload your layout, tell us how you spent your 2-3 hours. Making an embellishment? Learning a new tool? Remembering the story the pictures brought to mind? Tell us all!!
Hmm, just got a chance to go check the last chats on the previous thread. I was so busy getting the last touches on my challenge, I missed all the stuff about Sally's kiddo being sick! Hope she's better soon, Sally!!
Wow, what a challenge...I mean a real challenge. I can't sit still for 2 hours to do anything! And I know my brain can't do that many things at a time
Ha ha! When I first thought of this, I said, "Ooh! That'll be cool." Then Christie reminded me I actually have to DO it to challenge it. I almost changed my mind! But it was cool to stop and focus for two whole hours. I even started thinking about what it must have been like 100 years ago - slower, quieter, etc. (Yeah, I'm weird.)

Wow Rebeca....I've had moments of scrapping like this but not many...usually when I'm in "both sides of the brain busy" mode, I end up just moving pictures around. The best way for me to do this is start digging through my pictures for something I'm "inspired" to scrap. Thanks for the great challenge.
I probably won't get this uploaded tonight since I'm taking awhile...can we upload tomorrow since it's VSBN or do we have to wait until Monday?

What is the title on your page? IS it a last name?
I will have to call and ask her what the title is. She is always using words that I have no idea what they mean. I thought the same thing as you when I read it. I do know that it isn't a family name, since we are sisters
christie what did you do with your sister:rolleyes:
Well, Randall called her and told her to come and get her yard sale stuff out of our garage. He he didn't actually "tell" her, but asked when she was coming over so he could get the vehicles in.

Good! I couldn't read it and thought that maybe it was just late and I was tired. Yes, please find out what she is talking about!!
I bought some great paper for this challenge today.
Or I bought some great paper today that'll be perfect for this challenge!

Is there going to be another challenge in 7 minutes?
This was our last one for the evening. But we will have lots for Nov. 3 & 4.
We will also be announcing a surprise in the next day or two. I have been trying to announce it for the past several days, but I haven't had all of the info to share with you yet. So.... it will be anyday now.
Okay, scrapping will have to wait. A friend that is having marital problems just called and is coming over for a few hours. So, I will be back later! :-)
