JAN11VSBNA ~ Saturday, January 29, 2011 ~ 2:00 PM EST ~ Find Your Groove!
Title: "Find your groove"
Hostess: JoyceAnn (AnniePanda)
Keyword: JAN11VSBNA
Day/Date: Saturday, January 29, 2011
Time: 2:00 PM
Youve just come out of the busiest holiday season of the year and your scrapbooking rhythm has been severely slowed, or even grounded to a halt.
So, how do you change that situation and find your groove? Finding ones groove is getting involved in an activity that one enjoys or to which one is especially well suited we are all here for the activity of scrapbooking! Getting back into the rhythm of creating a layout is a matter of taking a step at a time. Heres what I want you to do for this challenge. Follow the steps that will walk you through the process. Then just relax, step up to the table and do it its time to recover your groove.
1. Pick out 2 or 3 photos
2. Decide on the two main colors plus one accent. Note: neutrals of black, white, cream are allowed.
3. Find at least 2 patterned papers in those colors that you like together. Note: solid card stock in colors of #2 (above) allowed in any amount.
4. Decide on a title now so when you arrange the photos and elements it will fit.
5. You must use embellishment. Choose your embellishments in odd numbers. For example use only one, or three, or five of something = 1 ribbon, or 3 flowers, or 5 butterflies, etc. Your choice.
6. Include a journaling block any size will do even if only to write the date.
Applying the Finding Your Groove concept to a scrapbook layout is as easy as going with the flow of the creative artist within you. Let go of the pressures when you step into these moments youve set aside for your hobby. Whatever your scrapbooking style is, go with it and let it develop in whatever way is pleasing to your eye. Remember, leave a legacy!

and in the process of my searching... I found a check from May of 2007 that had stuck to the back of a picture that I never cashed....... and my mother and stepfather must not balance their checkbook as they never asked me if I cashed it....

That is too funny Valerie. You are beginning to sound like me...I find things in the strangest places.
Our light burnt out in our one standing floor lamp so I bent it over to unscrew the bulb and guess what I found? A Nerf dart (with the plastic part melted!) Good thing it didn't start a fire!
Terri, where do you get your digi stuff? Now, that I'm getting back into the digi side, I need more stuff! I want to see if brushes will work with CM's SBC.

that IS a little bit scary....
I don't usually lose stuff like that, but this was right after ds2 was born, so I was probably quite scatterbrained.
I'm PRINTING!

Hey Michele or Rachel - will we have upload capability tomorrow? Ds2 is probably going to be up any minute, so I'm thinking my time is limited, but I may be able to try again after bedtime...

Well. This seems easy enough and it can definitely be done using digital scrapping. I'm on it!
I'm a digi scrapper, too!

I changed what photos I was going to do at least twice! Also, I did three of each embellishments, but they add up to six! So wasn't sure about that. Everyone else had such bright pages, and mine are so dark. But I love Baja Breeze and Night of Navy. They are favorites of mine. Does that mean I am a dark person??
Ok I have my layout all finished. Now I have no idea where to upload it to. Does it go in member gallery. This is my first time playing this. I need LOTS help on how to upload to this site.

Upload it to the Member Gallery, just be sure to add the keyword that's listed in the first post! JAN11VSBNA

Here is my layout for the challenge. Hope this post works.;)
Well I see it did NOTwork, How do I get my link to my pic here?
I found your layout by looking in your gallery. It's good! I like it.
I think the reason it's not showing up in the mini challenge gallery is that it appears there was not a space between the keyword and cubscout. You might need to edit it by putting a comma after JAN11VSBNA, and then a space before cubscout. That should fix er up!

If this does not work I give up for now. Sorry for all the postings.I put a space between my wording wouldn't let me do it on the actual pic.
Well part of it worked. The link to my blog. LOL. Oh well the pic is there.

I'll have to remember to go look for K&K papers. Can they be found at AC Moore, Joanne's, or Michaels? I don't go shopping much since I do digi scrapping now.
