JAN11VSBNB ~ Saturday, January 29, 2011 ~ 4:00 pm EST ~ Raise Your Glass
Title: Raise Your Glass
Hostess: Lura (lurasfaith)
Keyword: JAN11VSBNB
Day/Date: Saturday, January 29, 2011
Time: 4:00 PM (EST)
The song "Raise Your Glass" by Pink is a song that really gets me moving. I am usually the kind of person that likes a song because of the beat and not the lyrics, and this is no exception. It usually doesn't matter what I'm doing when I hear it start to play, I just get up and dance. (Yes, even when I'm driving. But don't tell anybody! ;))
Since it's not the lyrics that I like about this song, the title speaks to me. It is still the New Year and even if you've slipped a little it's not too late to make good on those resolutions you started with such good intentions.
Use a photo of yourself, your craft room, or anything else you resolved to change this year and tell us what your dreams are for it. You can also tell us about resolutions from years past that you followed through with and have the end result already or are still working on. Also this doesn't have to be about just you. Is there someone else you would like to "raise your glass" to?
Congratulations for resolving to improve your lives in some way and good luck in doing so!

Since I made a New Year's resolution for the first time in years, I'll have to go to the basement and take pics. I'm gonna get the area cleaned and organized by the end of this year! (and we've got 14 years worth of stuff down there) Most has accumulated since DGS came to live with us and as he outgrows things, they make their way to the basement. Even my DD still has items down there and she hasn't been around for over 5 years now! I'm pretty sure there are boxes there that were moved in 14 years that have never been touched! (tells me I can probably get rid of them now )
I'll have to think on this one a little. Just finishing up my dps for the first challenge. I still have 10 minutes to go on that one!
I didn't get started until 3 on that one and I'm just stamping my background for a 2nd DPS because I realized I only had one so far...oops...;) That's the real fun of these challenges, doing something you would maybe not do with the page if you were just scrapping...

If you're like me you will start going through those boxes and find things you didn't know you could live without and drag it all back in the house to use!;)

Feeling your stress to get this done! I had to do the same last year! Had a huge garage sale in early Summer, donated the rest to Goodwill and now we can actually move around in our storage areas and garage! Sad thing is I moved all of that accumulation. We didn't have to pack it since the company moved us....

Well, Iwill have to think about this one. I Think your page is a great one to be able to scrap! What an accomplishment!
I guess I will go clean off my areas from the last one while I think about this.

I think that's one of the reasons I haven't done it before...I'm afraid that will happen!
I resurrected my old digital camera to go take pics. (I had to stop, look and really think about how to turn it on lol) Now I have to try to figure out a way to get it on my laptop. I have a port for the other camera card but not this one! Trying now to see if my printer can import the pics to my laptop. This technology stuff is the bomb! It's gonna work!

OK. Pictures are saved on laptop and I've taken one of Sally's sketches and made it into a digi template. Now to find the papers and embellishments to use.

You all have really made progress. I am still trying to come up with an idea! Guess I will have to start dinner. Maybe I can think of something.
I am curious about the digi scrapbooking. I downloaded a program on my computer, but it is really hard to use. It takes me longer to do it than traditional. I think there must be something I am doing wrong. (Ya think!!!?)

Wow this challenge was perfect for some pictures Dh and I took this past fall. I had no idea why or when I would scrap them! That is until this challenge and they fit perfectly with my new years resolution!

I use Photoshop Elements for scrapping and I had to take some lessons to figure out how to use it. Anavon showed me the program she uses when we visited in 2009 and that helped me decide to take the lessons and then experiment. I've not looked back since! It's awesome and appeals to the orderly bookkeeping side of me!
