MAR12VSNMINI5 ~ Friday, February 10th ~ 9:00 pm EST ~ Tulip Tones
Title: Tulip Tones
Hostess: Heather (JadeOnline)
Keyword: MAR12VSNMINI5
Day/Date: Friday, February 10th
Time: 9:00 pm EST
When I think of spring, I think of tulips. One of my favorite things is walking into the grocery store and seeing those bright spring blooms in a multitude of colors waiting to brighten up my rooms....reds, yellows, oranges, purples, pinks....of course, all contrasted by the broad rich green leaves.
Look at these gorgeous tulip images! Aren't those tulip fields amazing? I'd love to see them in person one day.
My challenge to you is to make a card inspired by tulips....for your theme, use a floral image (it doesn't have to be tulips). For your color combination, use tulip tones....a bright green and the color(s) of your favorite tulip (remember, some tulips have two or even three colors in them).
UPLOADING/CHALLENGE INSTRUCTIONS:
1. ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 8:00PM EST ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2012.
2. You have 45 minutes to complete the challenge.
3. Please remember to put the correct keyword, MAR12VSNMINI5, when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in this thread to be sure your card is seen.
What a great challenge! Tulip fields are amazingly beautiful. In the county where I live we have a Tulip Festival every April. They really do look like that and make for gorgeous photos. I know exactly which stamp set I will be inking up for this challenge...and the purple tulips are my fave!
Glad you like the challenge!! The tulips are just starting to come out in stores here now. I was admiring them the other day, thinking I needed some on my dining table!

The Kiwanis members just delivered the potted tulip orders to our school today. It's a happy marker of impending spring!
Tulips are my most favorite bulb... love those photos!
( yikes we have a gopher/mole/something that is eating the dang things...) (it doesn't touch the daffodils or iris tubers though??) so i think this year I will be lucky to see a tulip in my own yard, didn't plant more last fall since I only see them in one spot that has cement on both sides of the bed
Well, I am skipping ahead to this one. I haven't been able to get in on all of the challenges tonight. Maybe go back later. I love tulips and I hav that SU! set Terrific Tulips that I just love! So will go dig it out! Your card is beautiful Heather! And all the photo at the top of the rows of tulips is beautiful! I didn't recognize at first that they were tulips!
Sharon Hi everyone!
Jane, the Tulip Festival in LaConner is usually the first week in April. Sometimes the tulips are early and the daffodils bloom first. It just might be worth the drive

I have to go to Bellingham anyway, but I now I will make sure to drive up during the day instead of my usual late-night-avoiding-traffic schedule! I will PM you closer to the date and see if you want to meet for coffee or something on my way by!
Here is my offering, starting to feel a little tired, it's been a big day with an art auction thrown in. We were very extravagant and bought three paintings. My attempts at art seem puny by comparison.
A special thanks to all five of you that were the moderators! Good job! I loved it. I have done the two day challenge before but this is the first time I did the mini. It was so much more fun since it was shorter so not so much of a pressure for a shorter period of time and also did not make as big a mess in the card room! Thanks ladies!!!
It's been so warm around here (until today) that the daffodils are already up, so tulips may not be far off. It's close to freezing today, tho, so I guess that will slow them down a little.
Anyway, here's my tulip card. Thanks for the challenge.
Didn't think I would get chase to play this weekend, but I scrapped everything off my to do list and got stamping! I'm so glad I did as I had loads of fun!

Thank you!! And to everyone else who made comments on the moderators, challenges or projects. I really appreciate it, as do the others!!
