Welcome to our Spring Virtual Stamp Night - Mini style!
We know that spring doesn't start in the northern hemisphere for another month, but many of us are so ready for it! What better way to get ready than to focus on pretty FLOWERS!
I spent much of the early part of February with a nasty sinus infection. I had lots of prescriptions, and went through loads of kleenex (tissue) and had to drink tons of water to stay hydrated. As lousy as I felt, it inspired this challenge. (Never let hardship go wasted! :lol: )
Bring out your tissue paper (white or a pale color) and a bottle of water with a mister to create a background or die cuts using this Tissue Paper Watercolor tutorial:
Because the tissue paper needs to dry, you can add at least 20 minutes to your time. Not that we have VSN police...
Then to stick with the theme, include flowers in some form. It could be a stamped image, washi tape with a floral print, even flower shaped brads! (I have quite a collection of retired ones!)

Flower Fairies are tiny creatures that live in the tree tops, marshes, forest floor, wayside and gardens. Wherever and whenever a seed sprouts, a Flower Fairy baby is born. Each Flower Fairy lives and sleeps in their chosen flower, plant or tree, and as it grows the fairy grows too.
Each and every Flower Fairy is in charge of looking after their flower or plant; keeping it strong and healthy by making sure it has plenty of sunshine and water to drink, sweeping away the dead leaves, and polishing flowers and stems.
Click on the link below to view the Flower Fairy Alphabet. Using the first letter of your first or last name, find the fairy that represents you. For example, I'm Jacqueline Valade...I can either choose J: The Jasmine Fairy or V: The Vetch Fairy. Click on your fairy to learn more about her then create a card representing your flower fairy using inspiration drawn from the image, colors, or elements described in the poem. Challenge Write Up: My favourite cards to make are Christmas cards, and it's never too early to start, especially if you need quite a few of them! So let's see Christmas florals - poinsettias, hellebores (Christmas rose), Christmas cactus, anything else you consider a Christmas floral. You can have holly, mistletoe, pine, etc. in your image as well, but there should be at least one actual flower.

Challenge Title: Inchie Tiles with Flowers Hostess: annsforte3 aka: Ann Keyword: MAR20VSNO Date: Saturday, March 28, 2020
Welcome to Florapalooza! So glad you are joining in the fun!
My challenge for you is to make flower inchie tiles! First find a special floral stamp, then stamp that image on your cardstock and color as desired.
When done coloring, cut your image into one-inch square pieces. Combinations of either three or four across and three or four down will work best to show off your image.
Now, using a black pen or black marker highlight the sides of EACH square, running your pen or marker along the edges of EACH square. Let dry!
Now comes the magic shine of a tile. Using clear embossing powder, heat emboss each square two or three times each to get that nice thick shine on each square. If so desired, you may use glossy accents instead of heat embossing.
Arrange your squares on your background, making sure to attach them with the same spacing between each square. Use foam tape or dimensionsals to attach your tiles to the base card.

My challenge (with myself) is leaving enough white space when I color flowers!
I went to college in Upstate NY which has the most spectacular tulips in the spring. I saw varieties I had never seen before there!
My favorites were the ones that were mostly white with streaks of color, which reminded me of my Stamp Etching technique!
I want you to use only thin lines to add color (or black as in the video) to your flowers, leaving LOTS of white space on each petal!

Welcome to our Spring Virtual Stamp Night - we're almost done!
Spring has finally arrived officially in the northern hemisphere, though with social distancing in full mode, it hasn't quite felt like it. It may be a while before we plant flowers in the yard (still chilly in Illinois) but my flower stamps are getting a work out this Florapalooza VSN!
I usually stamp flowers with a sunny sky, but since my challenge is going live late at night local time, I decided to focus on Midnight Gardens. There are some species of flowers which bloom more at night, and they look lovely! Most that I found are white or very pale pastels.
My challenge to you is to create a midnight garden scene using one of the Chalkboard techniques. Stamp on a navy or black card stock (think late night sky) and add color! One technique uses white pigment ink and pastels, the other uses white embossing powder and alcohol based markers. Take your pick!
