NOV09VSNH ~ SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2009 ~ 3 pm EST ~ FLOOR OF DIAMONDS
Title: FLOOR OF DIAMONDS Hostess: Robyn O (Robyn) Keyword: NOV09VSNH Day/Date: Saturday, November 14th, 2009 Time: 3:00 PM (EST)
When I hear the word Masquerade, I think of masks, feathers, beads and the Harlequin type of costumes...diamond pattern of black and white, yellow and purple or red and black. Masquerade Ball has me picturing people in various costumes dancing on elegant ballroom floors. Possibly of a black and white diamond shaped pattern.
Your challenge is to create a card with the Harlequin design in one of the color combinations listed above using the Wall of Bricks tutorial by Birgit Edblom as a guide.
If you are adventuresome try creating your card with a diamond shaped pattern or squares on point pattern. Start with a square piece of paper. Turn your paper so that it is point (corners) at top, right, bottom and left. Stamp your image and then create your lines as per the tutorial (side to side of paper), you may want to make the lines 1" apart instead of 1/2". This way your image will be cut up into diamonds instead of squares.

Oooh, Robyn, that sounds like a great challenge! I have to run out and do some errands, but I will be sure to play when I get back. I've been wanting to try that technique anyway.
I looked through the techniques and found this one and thought ...that's it. Then when it was the Technique Challenge for Wed this past week, I thought...great...everyone will have a chance to try it the normal way and be ready for twist on it today.

Eating, parties, shopping, stamping. Pick one. The baby shower is almost over, only a couple more packages to open. Lot of cute clothes for the babies, not much in toys. Big sis has a lot of those to share.

Thanks! Talk about a puzzle to put together! And then when I was cutting, one strip got turned upside down and then I was, well I won't say "lost" but definitely mildly confused. ;)

Glad you found your way back and could join in the fun today.

I really wanted to do red/black, but couldn't think of how to stamp so the image wouldn't disappear into the black. Maybe next time.
I really enjoyed this challenge, plan to do another!
Thanks for the challenge~ I had what seemed like a thousand pieces spread all over my desk that reminded me of why I should follow tutorials more closely.

Here is my card for this challenge. Given the time line, I struggled with lining up my image right. In the end, I had some "loose" corners, but thought it just added to the card. Will definitely try this again.
