MAR12VSNMINI3~Friday, February 10 ~ 7:00 PM EST ~ 3-D Flowers
Title: 3-D Flowers
Hostess: Barbara, bejoyce
Keyword: MAR12VSNMINI3
Day/Date: Friday, FEBRUARY 10
Time: 7:00pm EST
Here in the Seattle area, we had quite a storm in January--snow, ice, wind, and major power outages. We were without power for three days, and it was cold and dark. I am **SO** ready for Spring, and the beautiful flowers that will soon be here.
My challenge for you is to make a card or other project using one or more 3-dimensional flowers that you have made.
You can use punches, dies, Nestabilities, or even cut them freehand. You can use cardstock, printed paper, vellum, tissue paper, ribbon or even fabric. Note that you have to make the flowers youself--no Primas or other pre-made flowers, please! Layer those babies, and make those flowers pop off the page!
The flower on my card was made with four cuts of the smallest flower in the SU Fun Flowers die. I cut two Pink Pirouette and two Pretty in Pink. Then I used the Faux Suede technique, giving me 8 layers. I sponged the Pink Pirouette layers with Pretty in Pink, and the Pretty in Pink layers with Regal Rose ink, alternated the layers (suede side up) and secured with a shiny pink brad.
1. ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 8:00 PM EST on Monday February 13th, 2012.
2. You have 45 minutes to complete the challenge.
3. Please remember to put in the correct keyword, MAR12VSNMINI3, when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
4. Remember, there's no combining VSN challenges.
It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in this chat thread to be sure your layout is seen.
Thanks for playing, and have fun!

I used MS punch and cut out between the petals and then cut one set of the petals shorter to make layers. Thanks for looking and thanks for the challenge!
Hey, Barbara??? Can you double-check the keyword in the first post??? Looks like it should be MAR12VSNMINI3 instead...
Is it OK now? I can't see what it was before--I *thought* I had it right, but maybe one of the mods went in and corrected it. Whatever, as long as it's right now. If it isn't, please post again, so we can fix it!
Thanks,

Thanks,
The title of the challenge is correct, but the keyword in the info section isn't the same --->

Jane, thank you **so** much for finding that mistake. It was actually there not once, but twice, and I just couldn't see it. I've corrected it now. And I agree, I didn't see anything in the gallery with the incorrect keyword, so I think we're good.
Thank you again!

Oops...I only saw it ONCE! Maybe between the two of us...we have one whole set of eyes!
Didn't think I would get chase to play this weekend, but I scrapped everything off my to do list and got stamping! I'm so glad I did as I had loads of fun!
That storm was really something wasn't it! I am grateful that I was far enough north to keep my power (so I could craft) while I was out of work due to the weather.
I'm an earth-tone sort of person, so I was sooo happy to get to a challenge that didn't call for bright colors! I don't have many vibrant colors - and even less now. I guess another shopping trip is in order I did check my local shop for Glubers and they had them in stock, so I figured I'd better use them. I used a wide ribbon instead of fabric, but it really did go together just as easily as in the video. Thanks for the wonderful challenge that let me try something new!
