JULYVSNA 6:00 Challenge Nursery Rhyme/Storybook
This is called : JULYVSNA (This MUST be used for your keyword when uploading your card!) 6:00 Challenge Nursery Rhyme/Storybook Card
Ok ladiesFirst challenge of the night is to design a card using either a nursery rhyme or storybook theme (for example, i.e. fairies to represent fairy godmothers, Night Before Christmas with Santa, cow jump over the moon, itsy bitsy spider, dragons from sleeping beauty, humpty dumpty if you have the easter setsetc...) There are endless ideas for this, most of us remember childrens stories and books, you can use more recent stories if you are at a loss for a nursery rhyme idea. Make sure you let me know which story you are using (in case it isn't obvious). You can use whatever embellishments you want. Handmade items are great, leftover scrap for a sleigh, animals, people or whatever is fine! If you need more ideas, let me know, otherwise use your creativity, and go dig for that Mother Goose nursery rhyme book and find some really cool ideas!!
Any stamp set, anything you have will work fine. If you need an example, you can check out my Night before Christmas card. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Its cheesy yes, but Im all about cheesy sometimes!
If you are at a total loss and dont have kids or have ever read them a story, then do a google search and itll also pull up about 100 ideas. I hope everyone can participate. I hope to have a lot of fun checking out your designs!!!
I'll be here waiting to reply back to any questions you've got!

I hope the ideas come faster as the night progresses.... I wish I had that "A new little someone" set to do the Velveteen Rabbit. Is there a story about a fancy party dress or a hula lady? Ok... now I am on it.
okay here's mine! The Little Red Hen. My dd has the updated version of this classic fairy tale of a little hen who wants to make a pizza but nobody will help her. She makes it on her own but still shares it with everyone.
I have some Winnie the Pooh stamps and made a card using them, but not sure if I'm going to upload it or not. Okay, I went ahead and uploaded it. I'm just not into embellishments tonight, so my cards are coming out kind of plain.
I did the bonus round and now I'm already behind! I'm going to play catch up all night!
I'm even more behind then you are! DH got online at 5:30 so I couldn't do anything. We just got offline so now I am ready to start. Unfortunately the second challenge is about to be posted so I will be behind two challenges all night. And I have to post mine at 11:15.

Wow! I actually finished one! My first VSN card ever! I hope it's "good enough"! LOL The name of the stamp set triggered the theme for the card - what luck! Here's the link:

Done!!!!!!!! Now I just have to wait for the glitter to dry so i can attach the ribbon and glue the layer on and scan and upload, I did the childhood poem, "A Purple Cow". It was always one of our favorites when we were kids and I had been wanting to do something with it. Walk This Way always makes me think of a purple cow.

I'm uploading my version of Curious George Flies a Kite. I think it came out kind of cute, even though it didn't scan super well. I even got the yellow hat blowing by in there!
