It's funny, because when we did all the planning I was thinking people could do other challenges while their paper dried.

But...no other challenges posted yet! LOL

I'll blame it on the medicines I was on at the time!

I'm here, not waiting for kleenex to dry but waiting to figure out how to be in 2 places at once AND with a dog whining to be fed...

Thanks for posting the challenges in this link, so easy to follow along...

I got a new box of SU supplies, I'll see what I can use!

Not cooking tonight. Hubby is at work. I had a fairly heavy lunch. I just had a protein shake to carry me through the evening I hope.

Potato chips on hand if needed. LOL

Finally got home from picking up daughter #1 at college for spring break - snow squalls and two highway accidents added to the travel time. She was home 30 minutes and has already left to go hang out with a friend lol! Did some commenting and trying to muster up energy to create! I feel bad not cooking dinner because my husband is on a Whole 30 diet - there are some leftovers but he is SO tired of eating leftovers (I pack him for lunch whatever we had dinner the night before). The challenges and everyone's cards look SOOOO good!!!

What brand is your favorite? Cape Cod are the winner around here! They have a new Dark Kettle variety that is AMAZING (and I am not a potato chip lover).

I just got home from work a bit ago and YAY it's not my turn to cook
so, the plan is to do the Mini now ( debating a pot of coffee but, it is also just turned 5 pm here)
and I have to be out the door early in the am ( hubs fault) he has a chance at a good coupon when the doors open to a local west coast chain store to spend his birthday money.

I like classic Lays, or Ruffles if I use dip. But these are an off-brand from Aldi's. They're quite good, and cost less, so Win Win!

Well everyone over in the USA should be tucked up in bed sound asleep. It's late afternoon and I have just finished having afternoon tea with DH.
Today has been a lovely stress free day with me coming and going to and from the craft room.
I've done my three cards but am yet to upload them, going to do that as soon as I finish this post, still have to do the inside of the cards.

I used to stress out so much about trying to get the cards done when the challenge posts went up and I used to do it too but now I just stop and start my digital timer if I need to leave the craft room for ie comfort stops, coffee, usually before the need for comfort stops lol, breakfast, lunch or dinner. DH doesn't feel so neglected and I'm a lot less frazzled.

As I get older I have a lot less stamina, probably the arthritis and all the medications I'm on. I know from posts I've read that I'm not alone in this.

Anyway back to VSN I normally check every now and again to see if anything is happening but this one nearly got away from me thank goodness Sabrina put something up in her favourites post.

Sharon I'm so sorry you can't play is this the first one you have missed since 2011, that's when you and I first started playing VSN together. I broke my right wrist in 2010, the good news, it is one of the few joints or breakages that I don't have much trouble with lol.

With your challenge Kim there was a lot of stopping and starting while I waited for things to dry but loved doing it and went with this weeks colours for the background with some touches of silver. I then did Lee's challenge because that was going to be fast and it was, then I did your's Misti and it should have been fast but I just scrapped in because I messed up the greeting and had to come up with a recovery strategy lol, it ended up better but took me right to the wire.

Like I said earlier I have had so much fun. I have a big Folk Art workshop on the Saturday your Friday of the main so will probably do the Sunday your Saturday ones first and see how I go from there. Thank you all for these wonderful challenges and now to upload.
Hugs Marg

Good morning to my friends in the Americas, and good evening to friends in Europe, and happy Sunday afternoon to friends Down Under!

If there is anyone lurking here from Asia or Africa, please say hello and introduce yourself!

Moving a bit slow today, darn arthritis. But at least it is sunny! I have a few ideas for additional cards. Late last night, I peeked in the Inspiration challenge, and so maybe I will combine something with that.

Hubby went to a Maple Fair in his hometown, about an hour away. I didn't want to spend the day outside. It's sunny, but still just above freezing. I'd rather be stamping! He understood, and didn't push the road trip idea. Smart man!

I will be spending more time in the gallery too!

I’m glad to be here joining in again. Yesterday I waited for the challenge to be posted, and flung myself into trying my adaptation of the technique. I finished, took my photo and went to upload, only to discover that I had logged out of my account at some time and I couldn’t remember my password.
But this morning I have got it sorted and will upload when I get back home. Then I discovered there are two more challenges to do! So fun for later on.

Hugs Sharon!!!!

Marg....I'm usually wide awake when you are! LOL I get about 4-5 hours of sleep in the wee morning hours on average. But I'm usually reading or watching shows. Insomnia for the win! lol

I'll be in the gallery today off and on! We have a big upheaval in life right now so things are extra crazy! My hope is they're calmed down before VSN main! From my mouth to Mother Nature's ears!

Tonight I posted my final page. I’ve enjoyed adapting the challenges to my scrapbooking pages. I liked making my own background and embellishment. It gave me a good stimulus to get on with my garden scrapbook and my pets scrapbook. It’s always so much fun to look at what you all are creating. Hugs to all.

I had a stamping event at my home yesterday so no VSN stamping for me on Friday. I am a time optimist so many things remained to be done on Friday. But now I can dig into the 3 fabulous challenges for the mini-VSN. BBL!

Onion dip (sour cream mixed with a packet of Lipton powdered onion soup mix) was a Sunday-after-church staple at my house as a kid. Mom fixed it ahead, along with jello filled with fruit cocktail and potato salad, so that lunch was immediately ready for starving, squirming kids who had their fill of sitting quietly.

I now make my "adult" version by adding a can of chopped clams. Makes a nice hearty dip with a little extra to chew on. Love those ruffled Lays or Frito scoops to hold a generous dollop of dip!

Onion soup mix plus sour cream! YES!

Lots of childhood memories right there! But I will have to pass on your grown up version. Clams, blech! LOL. I don't eat anything that lived in the water.

Yesterday, I made 2 more cards with the tissue paper I had colored, this time adding metallic embossing powder. I hope to upload later today.

I also got a box of SU goodies with my Sale-a-bration order. Pretty flower paper, stamps, and dies! Perfect for Florapalooza!

Well, that is, um, different? How did you come to this dietary restriction? Is there a name for it? Like vegetarian, carnivorous, non-aquatarian?

Kim, I’m right there with you. The only thing that I like that lives in the water is crocodile tail.

Where do you get it and how do you prepare it?

In the US, the closest thing is alligator tail. You can cook it like you would any other meat. I prefer fried nuggets or it sautéd in butter with garlic & mushrooms like a steak.

No name. I just don't like fish, lobster, shrimp, clams...

It's all yucky to me. The smell of lobster & shrimp literally makes me gag. My first taste of lobster was fresh stuff on Long Island NY, when we were visiting family for a wedding. My dad was all excited, "Here's how you do it...and dunk it in this butter..." I couldn't keep it down.

Dad said "What are you going to do when a nice guy wants to take you to a fancy restaurant?"

"I'll have filet mignon."

To this day, even fresh water fish smell (like trout) bothers me, though not as intensely. Hubby loves all fish & seafood; he will eat it when we go out, sometimes,if the restaurant isn't too crowded. I need my air!

As a Catholic kid, on Fridays during Lent I would eat fish sticks, which aren't much fish in reality, and only smothered in ketchup. Tuna salad if it was smothered in mayo and onions and celery. Now, on Fridays, I just enjoy veggie salads, maybe pasta with cheese sauce.

I wanted to go to Loyola University in New Orleans to study music therapy. I got a scholarship, but it wasn't enough, so I went to Illinois State. Later I realized my aversion to fish & seafood made ISU a better choice any way! LOL

I kinda wish I liked fish; it's generally healthy food. But at the age of 54, I don't see my taste buds changing.

That sounds really good, like scampi:-butter, garlic, mushrooms, maybe some capers. If you ever get a chance to have fresh abalone-breaded, fried/sautéed in butter & garlic-so tender (it has to be pounded to break down the muscle tension) a real delicacy. Living in northern California we have access to the ocean and brief season for diving for abalone makes this a special treat.
