Several years ago some friends from work and I formed a book club. We took turns picking out books, and met every other week or so to discuss the book as well as everything else that was going on in our lives. One of the books that I chose for the group was Sea Glass, by Anita Schreve. It's a great read, which I highly recommend.
Sea Glass, or what I always referred to as "pretties" when I was a kid growing up on the shores of Lake Michigan, is simply bits of glass that have been smoothed and polished by the rolling waves and sand of the ocean.
Here is your challenge: Create a card using the Polished Stone Technique.
I love your samples! As soon as Mr. Man goes to bed I'm playing! I love polished stone!

Could we put sea glass on our card if we have it? Or do we have to do the technique? I'm not opposed to the technique! Just wondering!!! This looks like a fun challenge!!!

Erin, I'll just throw it out there for Jennifer that I think the idea is to try the suggested technique, in an effort to get us to "think outside our little stamping box." KWIM? But I don't think there's any right or wrong answer here. Let your creativity take you where it will! I should state, however, that I'm not the boss of this challenge, so Jennifer may have something to say about my butting in. Sorry, Jennifer if I've overstepped my bounds!
ok I have to admit, I never tried this technique before this challenge...I have always avoided it! I finally went out and get the supplies and did it and I LOVE it! I had to do another! Here is the first...

Please use the technique....maybe you can incorporate the sea glass too!

Thanks for giving it a try. Glad you like it. Your card is great. Can't wait to see the others. I really love this technique too (obviously)...I usually do a bunch of different pieces, then worry about making cards w/ them later. I think if I tried to do it with something in mind I would never get exactly what I wanted.
I just found this thread. I'll have to give a try tomorrow morning. I've never tried this technique, and I don't have all of the supplies, but I'm sure I can figure something out.

Check out the different tutorials I have posted links too...they use a variety of supplies that you may have. FYI, glossy photo paper works if you don't have glossy cardstock on hand. One of the tutorials also shows how to do the technique on vellum.
Let it dry, Bekah. I had the same problem. You can upload it tomorrow. I finally sprayed mine with a matte finish acrylic--never would dry. It will be fine.

Jennifer, Great challenge!! I love this technique. Mine turned out looking like what I envision Sea Glass looking like. I turned it into a wedding card for a young man from my church congregation who just got married.
