I want to participate too!!!! And I also only will need a few things! Oh, I'm putting this on my calendar!!! This will be my very first VSN! I've been interested in getting involved! I can't wait!
Erin and Robyn, you two are in for some major, adrenaline-rushing, FUN! Girls Night Out will be different from the Mini VSNs because there will be a new challenge posted every hour, there is a 45-minute time-limit for making your creations, and you have only until Sunday night at 11 pm to upload your pics. Strange as this may sound, some of the cards I've made in a frenzy during VSN, thinking on the fly, with no time to analyze & reanalyze, have been my all-time favoriteS! Your creativity goes into overdrive! I can't wait to see what you come up with. Have fun!
Oh this sounds like so much fun!!!! I'm pretty good at thinking on my feet! It's choosing all the "ingredients" that take forever! Should we upload our cards as soon as we're done with them, or do we wait until it's over? What's the protocol? Because how will you know that we've completed the cards within the allotted time frame? Just wondering!

You can do it however you like. Some people use the 15 minutes between challenges to upload their cards, others use it to hug their kids, grab a bite to eat, use the bathroom, or clean up their stamping space. You will have until 11:00 pm EST on Sunday to upload your cards, so just follow your personal preference. There's no protocol, really. As for the 45-minute time frame, we use the honor system. (No timer police knocking on doors   LOL). The most important thing to remember is that this is for FUN, and an opportunity to step outside of your comfort zone and try new things. As a side benefit, many people find they make new friends in the process! It's all up to you. Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Great! I'm really looking forward to this! I'm always on the hunt for new ideas to stretch my creativity. And I'm fairly new to Splitcoast, so, it would be really nice to make some "online" friends! See you then!
I'm so excited!!! Today is my birthday - but seeing as how everyone is partied out (including me) I think we will celebrate my birthday with VSN this year!!! It will be my first VSN - can't wait!!!

Happy Birthday!!
VSN is going to be such a fun way to celebrate! I'll even bake a cake in your honor...what flavor should I have?  ;)

Okay, I hope this isn't a dumb question, but if it is, I apologize. I don't own any reinkers, but was going to place an order with my SU rep. For the reinker challenge, how many reinkers will we need? Or how many would you recommend? Will I need colors that complement each other, or create a verigated look? Just would like some direction before I place my order. Hurry, because I'll need to email my rep tonight or tomorrow! Hahaha Thanks for your help on this!

I have a bit of a silly question ...Can you describe a "composition book" ? I'm not really sure what they look like. Maybe I don't have one and will have to go...SHOPPING!
Just sneaking in to check out the shopping list. Maybe I will be by to join everyone it sounds like a good time. I have never played along before. I hope it is not like a release party. The last time I attended one of those my head was spinning. Way too fast for me. See you on the 18th.

Some of the chat threads move quickly, some don't. You don't have to chat, you can just stamp and upload, if you want. I hope you can join us for a fun weekend of stamping!
Just wondering what is meant by "double-sided paper" (doesn't ALL paper have 2 sides?).:p
For the red double-sticky tape, will regular tape runner or the glue strips (they come in an orange box and are clear) work?
Ditto on garkarlon's question about the reinkers. I don't own any, but was thinking about buying a few. Also, will the reinkers for the chalk ink pads work (that's what I was thinking about buying)?

I'm so sorry, I'm just seeing your post now! You don't HAVE to get reinkers, you can skip that challenge, but yes, get complementing colors if you do. 2-3 should be a good number.

Gerri
A Composition book is the black and white notebooks with the black binding. They're usually at Staples or Walmart dirt cheap.

Thanks, ladies. Can't WAIT!!!
Double sided paper means Designer Printed Paper that has a design on both sides......like SU sells.
Mono won't really work. You can use glue dots (not the pop up kind) or an ATG tape runner, if you own one. Just make sure its REALLY strong tape.
I answered the reinker question a few posts up, if you need anymore help, either PM beadfreak22 or myself, or just post here!

LOL!!! You're right! What was I thinking ?!?? What I meant was paper that has a different color or pattern on each side. Guess I ought to fix that, huh?
We had tickets to a play the VSN weekend - but I changed them just so I could stamp!
this will be my third VSN and I just love them - I agree with you Katherine - it's an adrenaline rush getting them done in 45 minutes - and SOME of my cards are the best that I do - others - not so much!!! LOL!!! but that's the fun - and it's being challenged that makes us grow !!
Can't wait!!!

Thanks, Nut! I really appreciate your answer. I'm placing my order with my SU Demo today. P.S. There's NO WAY I'm skipping these challenges (well, maybe I'll skip the googlie eyes one, but otherwise, I'M IN!)! I can hardly wait!
Ok, question about the reinkers. I have quite a few, so that's not an issue. However, do they have to be "metallic"? And where could I find such a thing? We don't have an ACMoore in the area. Just JoAnnes and Michaels, and all they have are the ranger inks....

Erin, the metallic reinkers are definitely NOT required to do the challenge. However, if you are looking for an excuse to try something new, Michael's has metallic "mixatives" made by Adirondack Inks that might work. I will ask the hostess for that challenge to chime in here with her advice.

Hi Karolyn!
For my challenge you will need 2-3 classic reinkers (and 1 metallic reinker, if you choose). The colors of the classic reinkers is totally up to you, it's always good to get colors that will "mesh" well together. You can always get 2 or 3 colors that are from the same color family, etc.
Hint: Valentine's Day is around the corner so you might want to pick colors that correlate with the holiday!
Hope this helps..any other questions PM me!

Regarding the metallic reinkers, I bought some at Michael's what I use is the Adirondack Mixatives and they work well. The only thing is you need to work with them pronto-quick because they do dry up fast!
The metallic reinkers are not a necessity for VSN.
Hope this helps!
