Challenge Title: Scottish Plaid
Hostess: Michelle (Mit240z)
Keyword: DEC15VSNH
Date: Saturday, Dec. 12

Halo! Ceud Mile Failte!

Hello and Welcome! I have always had a bit of a fascination with Scotland, from my love of plaid to my obsession with Scottish historical romance novels (that will be our little secret :D). I was overjoyed when I learned that both of my grandfathers parents were from Scotland and I myself have some Scottish blood in me! That explains so much about my temperament ;)

My challenge to you is to use plaid on your card.

I can't wait to see a beautiful gallery full of plaid!

I just watched a couple videos where the women drew a plaid pattern on their cards. We'll see how my attempts turn out!

My childhood friend's grandmother was Scottish and lived with them. She collected anything with a Scottie dog on it (that may not be the correct breed name but that is what she called them). She was the cutest and sweetest thing!

smadson 12-12-2015 10:15 AM

We went to Scotland on our British Isles cruise this year. We loved Scotland! Love plaid too!

Going to think while I turn out some Christmas breads out to cool. :)

smadson 12-12-2015 10:15 AM

PS, love your card!

mit240z 12-12-2015 10:16 AM

That sounds fun to try, I'll have to look that up. I can't wait to see your attempt!

I don't know the correct name either but I know exactly which dog your talking about.

mit240z 12-12-2015 10:17 AM

Thank you Sharon! I would love to go to Scotland one day.

Best as I can figure out, my paternal grandfather's ancestors came from Scotland but it was so far back that it's really hard to say for sure. Still, I loved making this Scottish-heritage card with a muted plaid background: DEC15VSNH Scottish Plaid by melissa59 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

I've always known them as Scotties.
Do you have the Black & White whiskey ads over there - with the Scottie and the Westie?

I do like to use pretty reds and greens in plaid for Christmas, but when I came across this piece of light blue it spoke "baby boy" card to me. Since Tiny Tot will be having a baby brother I was inspired to make this card.
