NOV08VSNMINI2 ~ October 25 ~ 6:00 PM EST ~ "Makeshift Costume" Chat Thread
Title: Makeshift Costume
Hostess: Kim (nutsymuhl)
Keyword: NOV08VSNMINI2
Day/Date: Saturday, October 25th
Time: 6:00 PM (EST)
You're filling in tonight because the main act got sick. The hustle and bustle backstage has you frantic. Hurry up, you need a costume....but what? Look! There's a skirt worn in act one...shoes from the 3rd act...a feather boa from the burlesque show. Yeah, you can put something together!! Hurry, its almost time!!
My challenge to you is to use your scraps laying around to create a card. You may use ONE regular piece of cardstock to create your base and ANY embellishments you want, but scraps only must be used for the layers of your card. Do your best to create a fanstatic card, worthy of your audience.
UPLOADING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 9th.
2. You have 45 minutes to complete the challenge.
3. Please remember to put in the correct keyword when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in the chat thread just in case the gallery is being testy.

This is one of the ones I didn't get a chance to make beforehand...I'm off to rummage through scraps. Luckily, my scrap basket hasn't been emptied yet...BBL
I have been stalking the master challenge list, and wound up missing the first 8 minutes because it was not listed in the master challenge list. Could you please post it there, too, so we can keep up with only one thread?
Here is my scrap card! I had to go to the scrap bag on the side of my desk because I clean off my desk after each project. I guess it is a little of my OCD showing through! lol

The CO's are taking care of that. I'm sorry you missed it, but you can begin at anytime, as long as you stick to the 45 minutes to create your card.
Yeah! I finished mine. I did a 6X6. Even the base was a scrap. The only thing I had to do was stamp the flower and the sentiment. The white peice was already CB'd with the dotted swiss folder and already had the edge scalloped. I'll upload tomorrow after church. My computer has been running really slow today.
Great challenge, Kim!! I, too, have a HUGE pile of scraps - separated in two piles (cardstock in one, DP in another). My cardstock pile is so big that I can't shut the drawer! LOL Anyone need some scraps?!! So, this challenge was PERFECT for many reasons! Here's my card: NOV08VSNMINI2 Friendship Quilt by garkarlon at Splitcoaststampers. Thanks, Kim, for such a fun challenge (and for inspiring me to use up some of my scraps!!)

I'm so sorry you missed the first few minutes :(, no worries though, you have until Nov 9 to finish playing and uploading. It does take us a couple minutes after the challenge is posted to get it moved to the master thread and everything linked as well. We have to do all of that manually!

Ooops, that was our juggling act--did you miss it? We were juggling some of our other duties at the time! Just start your time from the time you first read it. Sometimes SCS crashes and we have to start from where we are--it happens, no biggie. Sorry!

Here's mine. I'm almost embarrassed (I can never remember how to spell that) to post it, but hey! LOL! It was so super easy and fast. It's all scraps, though. Even the base is a leftover piece.
