Title: Brushin' off the Dust
Hostess: Melinda (WonkaisMyCat)
Keyword: MAY10VSNP
Day/Date: Saturday, May 29
Time: 10:00pm EST

Ok, friends, follow my logic here.....and don't say your brain doesn't work this way, because I KNOW it does.....

May Showers
May Flowers
May Spring
Spring cleaning......ugh!!!.........

.....and what do we find when we start cleaning? Well, if you're at my house...who knows!! But we all find something we forgot we had. You know, the shirt you found on sale at the end of the season last year....those SUPER CUTE capris you were SO SURE you could get in to by the time spring came around again. And should we (Heaven forbid!!) start spring cleaning in the crafting space, I'm sure there is something there you forgot you had as well. I won't tell if you don't.

So my challenge to you (if you haven't guessed it already) is to dust off those long forgotten....but still loved, of course....flower stamps for their spring debut. Extra bonus points for adding DP or embellishments from the back of the drawer.

I just spent 2 whole days cleaning out my entire scramp room...we're talking major overhaul - 3 big bags of trash plus a bunch of stuff to sell on ebay and take to the thrift store. Of course, I found quite a few things I "forgot" I had. Off to get them off the organized shelf! ;)

theelopers 05-29-2010 06:35 PM

Here is my card...Dusted off Echoes

Great challenge Melinda - I'm intending to get my card for this one, and a few of the other challenges I've missed, done a bit later!!!!

Nynaeve252 05-29-2010 06:50 PM

Dusted off this set but now I kinda remember why it was dusty:

TrishG 05-29-2010 06:59 PM

Thanks for the challenge to use an old set.

Purple Echoes

I can see that I had the same idea as someone else! Great minds think alike - it is a great set! (and it reminds me of the new watercolor set that I don't have)

Lmn 05-29-2010 07:30 PM

Hmm?

Well, I'm done w/ the challenge! I'm so happy to pull out SU! Delight in Life Stamps again! I just can't seem to find my camera and that's a problem. Hopefully, I'll find it tomorrow and can add my card! Thanks for the great challenge, there's many favorite sets I need to "dust off" and scraps of DP I need use! :D

peggysue 05-29-2010 09:08 PM

Here's my old set! I actually was thinking of selling it, haven't used it in ages, but had fun using it tonight!

Here's my Spring Solitude card. I haven't used this set in donkeys years!

Thanks, Vannessa x

Melinda -- you and I think alike. The "look what I found stashed in a drawer challenge" is a running joke in my gallery, so it's fun to see it made official this VSN.
Here's what I found stashed in a drawer:

PerkyNihilist 05-30-2010 10:04 AM

Great challenge. I used my oldest Bombshell Stamps and some paper scraps from a project I did in '09:

Happy Birthday

smadson 05-30-2010 08:03 PM

Here is my Flowery Thanks.
I found Love You Bunches, and I bought it several years ago and never had used. ( You would be surprised how many I have like that!) Anyway, I dusted them off and used them. Then I found these pearls that I bought a whole bag of for 50 cents at a stamp show several years ago and never used. The price is still on them!!
Thanks for the challenges. I am patting myself on the back, because I have completed all 18!!!
Whew!

♥♥♥

Thanks for making me get out my one of my first stamp sets!

This was dusty, just waiting to see some ink. Thanks for pushing me to dig out this beautiful image.

I feel like I am crafting at a snail's pace, but I am working within my time limit. Here is my submission for this challenge. It was fun to dig into some stamps I hadn't used for a while!

UnderstandBlue 05-31-2010 03:20 PM

OMG - I got so caught up in my Memorial Day post I forgot to post it to the challenge.

I've fought the good fight, but I think this will be my last VSN card. If you could see the amount of reinker on my hands after watercoloring this one you would - well, you would understand! You are stampers!! :)

Anyway, I dusted off my favorite poppies from Flourishes for this Memorial Day Thank You. TFL

jkerr1 05-31-2010 03:48 PM

I dusted off my ribbon stash for this anniversary card with candles and roses, and also got a chance to use the Nestabilities Labels 7 for the book.

You Light Up My Life

MsRabbott 05-31-2010 04:51 PM

WOOHOO!!! I managed to do all 18 challenges! *whew I'm tired*

This was a fun challenge, and it made me think hard about what was oldest in my stash. The set I used has been in my stash forever and I don't think I've ever inked it! I also pulled out my very first bottle of stickles, and the paper I used for mats is leftovers from years gone by.

Here's mine: Dusty Sunflower

Kelly H 05-31-2010 05:04 PM

Well, I dusted off my "Roses In Winter" set!

Lmn 05-31-2010 05:25 PM

here's mine

I dusted off my "Delight In Life" Stamps for this card. It was fun! I don't even know what the DSP is that I've found, LOL! It was in the scrap bin.

Delight in Life Fun!
