MAY09VSNPRE6 ~ March 28, 2009 ~ 9:00pm EDT ~ LUXOR PYRAMID
Title: LUXOR PYRAMID
Hostess: Robyn (Robyn O)<o></o>
Keyword: MAY09VSNPRE6
Date: Sat. March 28, 2009
Time: 9PM EDT
I have never been to Las Vegas. I do enjoy looking at the pictures with all the bright lights and each casino trying to out do the next. In looking at pictures of the hotels, I am intrigued by the Luxor PYRAMID . I love the fact that it looks so different from all the other hotels and I like the 39 volatile 7,000-watt xenon lamps atop the Luxor pyramid. Touted as the world's brightest light, Sky Beam is strong enough to read a book by10 miles (16 kilometers) out in space.
<o></o>
Now, all casinos have gaming tables and they have felt tops and I enjoy the feel of felt.<o></o>
My challenge to you is to make a card inspired by the Gaming Table felt top using the Faux Felt Technique.
There are two requirements on this challenge, first your card must be triangular in shape, like the faces on the pyramid and second that your layer of Faux Felt be the topmost layer or the layer immediately under your image. I want to see the Faux Felt.
What is the Faux Felt Technique you ask. There are two ways to create it. <o></o>
One way is to run a piece of card stock through the paper crimper a few times at different angles until you are able to separate the two layers. The inside feels like felt, just as soft as the felt <o>.</o>
The other is to take a piece of cardstock that is cut slightly larger than needed and crumple it up, open and smooth it out and repeat that several times. Finally, carefully separate it into two pieces. The inside is the faux felt. <o></o>
<o></o>
Cant wait to see all what everyone comes up with.
UPLOADING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON MONDAY, MARCH 30th (for VSN)
2. You have 45 minutes to complete the challenge.
3. Please remember to put in the correct keyword (MAY09VSNPRE6) when uploading your image.
Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos. It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in the chat thread just in case the gallery is being testy.

Such a fun challenge Robyn - I admit, I had difficulties trying to figure out how to use my "faux felt" - I hope I did it OK. Here's my card:

Oooh - Robyn. This will be great fun, too! I have stayed in the Pyramid, in one of the pyramid rooms (they have regular square rooms, too). Cool place!

Somehow, it seems so very wrong to have anyone with "Irish" in their username say Leave the Green....

I have been up too many late nights in a row, without the aid of alcomahol.
Shannon can attest to that.
I think we should have a cell # exchange so we can randomly text stupid comments to each other at inappropriate times...
