MAR13VSNB ~ Friday, March 1st ~ 6:00pm EST ~ Halloween!

Title: Halloween
Hostess: Melissa, mollymoo951
Keyword: MAR13VSNB
Day/Date: Friday, March 1st
Time: 6:00pm EST

When I first saw the theme "Birds, Bees & Creepy Crawlies", I immediately zeroed in on the CREEPY CRAWLIES. When else...ya gonna see CREEPY CRAWLIES but on HALLOWEEN!

My challenge is threefold!

1. You must use something HALLOWEEN themed on your card.

2. Your creepy crawlie must be SHINY!

3. Your card must contain CHOCOLATE! As in milk chocolate / SU! Chocolate Chip color. (Chocolate fingerprints? Well...OK. I'll count those.)

There's several ways to go here. Your Halloween themed item can be paper or stamps. Your shiny could be heat embossing, Crystal Effects or glitter.

I have one sample to share. The first one...I use a sentiment from SU! Web Wishes, a Halloween stamp set. My worm is from SU! Bugs & Kisses, a NON-Halloween stamp set. The middle panel is a mild Halloween patterend paper.

Go mild or go wild! I didn't have time to go wild. Have fun! :D

Oh snap. I didn't follow the directions. :(

No creepy crawlies and the creepy crawlies obviously aren't shiny.

What?! VSN is hazardous to our diets... I just wanted to make sure that the chocolate theme was well represented in my efforts. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

And that reminds me...I guess I could go after a cup of coffee and eat those Cadbury Mini Eggs I picked up in Michael's today. They were having a rockin' clearance sale...SMASH stuff...slashed!

Really like this...no, they don't crawl...but i think you hit the creepy. Pretty cool card. Amazing how we can make Halloween cards with non-halloween specific stamps.

Ugh, you are not helping me stay out of Mike's! ;)

Challenging challenge, Melissa!!! I'm gonna have to think on this! Are butterflies and bees creepy crawlies? Or only the more objectionable bugs? ;)

smadson 03-01-2013 02:29 PM

Hi Melissa! Halloween. hum... :) I have no Halloween stamps that I know of, but I have an idea, and I could manage the chocolate finger prints. LOL
:)

Thanks, Melissa. I used embossing glitter - a nightmare to me! Maybe I could pretend the glitter is my own bugaboo!

Sarah.Jane 03-01-2013 02:31 PM

I had to hunt out my halloween stamps in a hurry!

I've used a Halloween stamp set and dies, with chocolate chip ink and dimensional glaze on my creepy spider!

Here's Mine:

Creepy Chocolate

By all means...if you can fit a butterfly or a bee into a shiny, chocolate, Halloween card...GO FOR IT!

:D

mollymoo951 03-01-2013 02:34 PM

I know...(about Mike's)...I saw a lady doing the same thing I was...I said...they are having a rockin' sale, aren't they. yes, she said. i said, i see you're doing exactly what I'm doing...we gonna have to get busy when we get home, huh? she looked at me...thought a minute...then busted out laughing...said...yeah....hahaha...we are!

:D

Hi Sharon! :D

It doesn't have to be a Halloween stamp...just Halloween themed! Got a worm...ok...that did not come out right. Got a worm stamp? A spider stamp? Halloween DSP?

I have several jars from Stampendous (I know you're shocked). I also have Iridescent Ice from SU which is a clear base. Are you gonna make me post a photo of them to prove I'm nuts for buying things I *hate* to use?

annie15 03-01-2013 02:51 PM

I copied and pasted the challenge keyword but it's not showing up in the gallery.
