JUNE06VSNL: 5:45PM EST - Smackin’ Acetate
Hostess: Sarahb
This technique uses:
Acetate (Window Sheet or transparency)
Markers (I used Stampin' Write Markers)
Water Mister
White cardstock (I've found that I like glossy best but you can use regular cardstock)
Create a card or project using the Smackin' Acetate technique.
This technique has probably been around for a while but I've just learned about it and have had a blast creating cards using it.
Start by scribbling using your markers onto the acetate sheet. Use similar colors so you don't end up with mud. Once you're happy with your scribblings spritz water over the acetate. Lay your cardstock down on a piece of scrap paper, then turn the acetate over onto the cardstock (if you do it in a steady motion you won't make a mess). Now mush the colors around with your hands until you're happy with the design. The acetate works great because you are able to see through it. While you let it dry start planning out your project. Once it dries you can stamp on it, punch it out, or use it as your background. Let's see what you come up with!
Please be sure to put JUNE06VSNL in the keyword section of your upload, so it can be found for judging!

I really enjoyed this one...the background came out so soft and subtle...it was perfect for the baby card I had to make! Thanks Sharon for the great challenge!

I'm not sure actually. You can try! I am sure they would. Any markers (other thren sharpies) would work too so if your kids have markers you could try those too.

I'm not sure if I'm happy or disturbed that my Mr. Sketch smelly markers worked.... Let's see, I've had them since I was in gr. 7? Holy cow...:(
LOL Those be some good markers!

All done! ...I put it together, but it's still damp, so it's not holding as well as it should...it looks nice though...I'll be posting some time tonight!
haha i was sitting here wondering how come i was done so quick (duh) i forgot the part where you spray it with water ... oh well i think its pretty the way it is haha
I ruined 2 gorgeous backgrounds when stamping the lighthouse but finally got one I'm happy with. This is too much fun!!!!

I just wanted to extend my apologies to everyone. I was at the last minute able to attend my family reunion and had arranged internet access. In the frenzy of things I forgot that time slots were eastern time and signed on dutifully at 5:30 central. I hope y'all understand and can't wait to see your wonderful creations.
man! my son is at his grandma's and he's put my spray bottle somewhere unbeknownst to me! (He uses it to spray his hair in the morning as the cows have big fun licking his head). Anyroad, I finally dumped one of my stampin' mist bottles back into the refill bottle and turned that into a spray bottle after turning my house upside down. So here's the end result: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
