sounds so fun, but sadly, my daughters are with us next weekend.. and I'll be busy spending my time with them.. I don't have them all the time, so when they are here, I focus my time with them.. I'll miss u all though, have fun!
I am planning to join (my first VSN event). I have read the recommended threads and in one, there was mention of a shopping list and advice to be sure to have everything on that list. Where would I find the shopping list?

It's my first one, too...yippeee...and here is what you are looking for:
This is probably the only olympic event this unathlectic-woman will ever qualify for. I'm looking forward to it!
Blessings,

This will only be the second time I've tried to participate. I was reading over the guidelines for VSN, and I have a question -- why is there a 45 minute time limit placed on the time that you can work on your card before posting it? I know that time limit is on the honor system -- but I'm a "play by the rules" kind of person. On the other hand, trying to get a card done while the clock is ticking just takes all the fun out of it for me -- I just can't enjoy the creative process when I feel like I'm being rushed. So I was just wondering, why the time limit??

I honestly have no clue but I can tell ya what I believe lol. There are a lot of challenges so putting a time limit on getting done is one way to help us manange our times and not spend 3 days on a card. Another thing is it makes it a bigger challenge for some. Personally sitting longer than 20 min to work on a card drives me insane so at times 45 seems to long but if it's a technique or challenge I am stuck on, 45 minutes isn't long enough lol !
Hope that helped some, maybe some other long time VSNers will have a better answer!

I'm so inspired by the real Olympics, just can't wait for the Stamping Olympics. I do have our monthly stamp club tomorrow eve, but I'll be working furiously when I return. If you are on the West coast you are always playing catch up anyway. Hope to see everyone on the slopes, the ice, you know what I mean! Bundle up baby, it's gonna be a fast and furious ride.
Washed my stampin' scrubber tonight so it can dry overnight, tomorrow morning I will fill up my stampin' mist and gather the supplies listed so I am good to go.
I MIGHT even have enough time to organize my scraps before VSN begins... (hey, one can dream)

I wash just upstairs in my craft room thinking I need to clean my stampin' scrubber too! I am about halfway through organizing my scraps and want to clean off my desk a bit. And oh yeah, I need to get the listed supplies out for easy access!
Are the times listed EST (eastern standard time)? I'm on the west coast, so will my VSN start at 3:00 Pacific time? This is my third VSN but I can't remember!

Yes, Eastern .. but remember, you have all weekend to work on the challenges ifi you can't do them live.
Scrubber is clean and dry, Craft table is cleared and has been lined with clean sheets of white newspaper, camera battery has been charged, supplies on shopping list have been collected and set aside and
MY SCRAPS ARE ORGANIZED!! (I KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!)
(Watch, now I will have internet issues and not be able to play! :-O Hope not!)

I am back from shopping and decorating with my friend and the DS's just left for their Scout Camp-over. DH dropped them off and went on to work.... YIPPEEE!!!! I am all alone until 11 pm then its just DH and I until 2 pm tomorrow.
I have never (ever!!) done a VSN before, so I read the rules and everything but I just had a few questions:
~How many challenges will be posted? (do we know how many??)
~I'm not a member of the fan club (:(:() - will my uploads still count before they're approved??
~Do we have to complete all the challenges??
~I saw that the prize is Spellbinders - what do you have to do to win?
~What if I can't get to a challenge in time to complete it before the next one is posted??
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me - I so appreciate it!!!

If I don't get a chance to finish all the challenges tonight (I can't watch Apolo Ohno and stamp at the same time - way too nerve-wracking!!!) can I finish them tomorrow (still setting the 45 minute time limit for each card)?? And we have to complete every single challenge to be eligible to win, right??
Again, TIA for your help!!

Rebecca you don't have to do all of the challenges, only the ones that interest you, but we hope they all interest you!!!! You have 45 min to complete each challenge but you don't have to do them all tonight/tomorrow. You have until Monday night to post the challenges. You can onloy win once, and each challenge will have one winner. So, relax and have fun tonight & tomorrow!!!! That's what VSN is all about--having fun. And don't worry, you can watch Apollo and stamp later after he skates tonight!
