Title: Summer Vacation Hostess: Roxie/Rox71 Keyword: AUG10VSNE Day/Date: Friday August 27th Time: 10:00pm EST
Summer is a time for vacations. Even if you dont take a long vacation from home those little get away weekends can be memorable, my favorite long vacation was Hawaii</ST1:razz:, what a site to see! As kids on a farm we didnt take vacations away from home but just being out of school for three months was a treat and so many memories of horses, summer flowers, hikes, tag along dogs and even the crops and the garden we grew.
So my challenge to you is: create a card or project that reminds you of a vacation away from home (at any age) or how you spent summer vacation away from school and tell us what inspired your creation.
1. ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON Monday August 30th. 2. You have 45 minutes to complete the challenge. 3. Please remember to put in the correct keyword, VSNAUG10E, when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in this chat thread to be sure you layout is seen.
Beautiful card, Roxie! I know just what you mean about ferris wheels and being "stuck" at the top -- it's not a fear of heights, but you can't help but wonder at that particular moment just how safe those carnival rides are . . . looking forward to playing along!

Well, I didn't say I was SMART--just not afraid of heights!!! I have a friend in the UK and plan to visit her soon -- and plan to go to the London Eye ... again, I never said I was SMART!!!
Gosh, I love this challenge and I'm sure I made a sample, it must be saved on the other 'puter!
Check those keywords if you did it a while back, I had forgot to change mine after the correction and didn't realize until it didn't show in the gallery link.

I did get scared off the octopus ride...thought sure the way that door rattled that I would not survive the ride. Never went on one again!
My favorite was the tilt a whirl! Close to the ground too!
I thought this was really going to be a tough challenge for me Roxie as I really haven't gone on that many vacations in my lifetime. But what came to mind is the different modes of transportation we use to travel. I depicted a train, car and plane on my card, which I'll upload later. Turned out to be a great challenge anyway.
What I like so much about the challenges is that they make us THINK and they make us STRETCH. Whether we have work faster than usual or get outside of our comfort zones, it's all good. Of course I also like the new techniques I often learn in challenges.

I agree on learning new techniques, I had never tried the Cuttlebug resist and really liked the result I got with it. I love all the challenge...just wish I had more time!
Well, I am just now getting here, and it is bedtime here! I don't know if I will do this one tonight or not. I am thinking, I will dream it up tonight and do it in the morning!

I usually end up with my best cards that way.
Good night everyone. See you all here at noon tomorrow!
You may have inspired me to take a memory lane trip to New York's Aquarium! I so miss my mom and the things we used to do together. Thank you so much for reminding me of those vacations!
Oh, Roxie... thanks for this challenge. You made me get out the stamps I bought while on vacation in Hawaii. That was back in February and they still had not seen any ink. About time, huh?!
I had gotten a late start on VSN, and I didn't get to this challenge until 11:30 last night. I just couldn't do one more card. So after I finished my Inspiration Challenge card this morning, I went to work. Whew! I am now caught up and can clean up my stamping area a little bit before we start again.
Thanks for the challenge Roxie. This one made me think, but it was so much fun once I started remembering the different travel modes I've taken to go on vacations. Here's my Travel Modes card.
Good morning! Well, I came up with this card. Thank you Rox for the challenge, as it brought back a wonderful memory!
The whole story is in my description!
Here is Sisters on the Beach.
