Question Need help getting ready for VSN

I'm hoping one of you nice ladies can help me. I am wanting to try and participate in tonights mini-VSN and am in need of assistance.

What should I do to get ready? I saw the shopping list (didn't make sense but I saw it), but what else should I do to get ready? I know long ago there was a thread talking about what to do to get ready for VSN but I couldn't find it. I only did one challenge at a VSN long ago, it was fun but I also learned that I need dh to know I am "gone stamping" during that time or I don't ever get to do a second card, LOL.

Thanks for any help you all can give me.

Christine,

Good questions.

To get ready for VSN, take note of the shopping list as you already did. These are items that you need for the upcoming challenges. If you don't have the exact items you can go out and purchase them or find something similar in your stash that you can use.

You always need CHOCOLATE to much on while working and chatting to give you energy.

Prepare your stamp area with your basic stamping items...cutter, scissors, adhesive. Have your stamps, paper and ink available so you can grab what you need.

Keep an eye on the VSN Forum and just before a challenge starts it will get posted. Open that up and read it and then go and create. The thread is where you can comment on what is happening, ask questions and get them answered and the guidelines of the challenge that you need to follow.

Hope this helps. Ask if you have more questions.

Thanks for the input. See you later as long as the weather lets me keep an internet connection.

Christine - is this your first VSN? Welcome aboard! Robyn pretty much covered what you need to do. Make sure you have room to work. And stick around here - there's always fun chatter as people start stalking the challenge threads.

I'm getting excited too!

Just thought of another thing to help get ready for VSN - to cut out unmounted stamps! Seems I am always mounting stamps during VSN!

LOL, did you peek into my stamp closet and see those unmounted stamps! I did get to attend one challenge back in Nov but that was it.

The cleaner the stamping area is the better...if you're like me, it won't be that way for long.

I loved reading the "what I've learned" thread about VSN.

I have my stamp counter cleared off except for my working paper, all my punches, inks, markers, etc are back where they belong and my tote of paper is at the ready.

Soooo, when do we start stalking. LOL!

I have played a few VSN's before...here is my tip....

Have a bunch of cards (whatever size you normally make) already cut and scored.

Also having some images pre-stamped and colored is a nice little head start for a complicated technique or one you are new to.

Some pre-cut card fronts is a great jump start.

Try to stay simple and you will get more accomplished.

Always have plenty of coffee and chocolate handy.... ah who am I kidding...make a pitcher of Martinis and have fun!
