Challenge Title: Traveling Ink!
Hostess: Kim (aka berlycece) Keyword: APR19VSNMINI1 Date: Friday March 8, 5:00 pm ET We're starting our Spring VSN with a fun technique challenge found with this tutorial, Rolling Marble Background. In this fun technique, it will be your ink that travels From Here to There! The challenge: Make sure your background, or some other layer features this technique. Your subject matter can be anything...just be sure we can see the results of your traveling ink! Below, you can see some samples made by VSN hostesses. Have fun! (Note: You do NOT need to use Versamark reinker to make this technique. Any die reinker will work.) View the gallery for this challenge: HERE View the From Here to There gallery: HERE View the From Here to There Challenge Thread: HERE 1. ALL Mini VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY Thursday April 11th, 10 PM ET in order to qualify for a Virtuoso Prize 2. ALL Main VSN creations must be uploaded by Monday April 22nd, 10 PM ET to qualify for a prize. 3. You have 1 hour to complete the challenge, unless otherwise noted.....you do not have to count prep time! 4. We have a special gallery for the From Here to There VSN. a) From the "Main Gallery" dropdown list on the first page of the uploader, choose Events and Special Collections. b) From the Sub-gallery dropdown list, choose Virtual Stamping and Scrapbooking Nights ~ it's the last in the list. c) From the new sub-gallery dropdown list choose From Here to There- it's the very top of the list. 5. Please remember to put in the correct keyword when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos. 6. Please do not combine VSN challenges...but you may combine any other challenges with a VSN challenge! It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in this chat thread to be sure your layout is seen. THANKS SO MUCH FOR PLAYING ALONG!!! |
This is such a fun technique everyone!!!!!!!!! Hope you all give it a try!

I absolutely love how quick and easy it is to make backgrounds with this technique! I cut a full sheet of whisper white into quarters, and did each of them with my 3 spring colors...so fun! I'll upload my "extra" two in just a few minutes.

This is a really fun technique...I remember doing this for one other VSN a while ago so I still had my marbles. ;) I actually got them at a surplus store in my city. They have the most bizarre items, huge boxes of things you didn't know you needed...
|
I used wooden beads. Last year, I hosted a VSN Kids challenge that needed beads for some little hanging birds. Maybe I'll just call them my VSN beads!
|
I'm late. Oops! I thought this started at 5:00 my time. My bad. My card is made though. Let me get it in the gallery.
|
Kim, there's no "From Here to There" in my drop down list. What am I doing wrong?
|
The first thing in my list is December 2018 Holiday Stories

For some reason, it is at the BOTTOM of the VSN gallery options. And it is labeled March 2019 - From Here to There. I am going to post a note on the hostess side, as well as in the regular chat thread. Hopefully, it will get moved up to the top soon, but we the mods) can't change it ourselves. |
Jeanette's Traveling Ink Card
Never mind... I found Here to There... it's at the very bottom of the list.
Here's my card... APR19VSNMINI1 Forest Ranger by Forest Ranger - at Splitcoaststampers BTW, I couldn't find marbles so I used bouncy balls. ;) |

Hi Kim, I tried this technique last week with our poppets and it didn’t come out right...probably because we didn’t have marbles or use something suitable lol. I will have another go but won’t post in the gallery as I won’t be here for the VSN. Thanks for the challenge and happy day

Past the date but I had to use the scrap from my previous card!
