APR19VSNI ~ Sat Apr 13 ~ 3 pm ET ~ Fueled by Caffeine ~ Melissa
Challenge Title: Fueled by Caffeine Hostess: javagirl984 (Melissa) Keyword: APR19VSNI Date: Saturday, April 13, 2019
For me getting to any destination requires caffeine. My choice of caffeine is most definitely coffee. I drink it before I leave, during the trip and when I arrive. So my challenge (after you've had your cuppa of course) is to pull out a coffee filter, some ink, water, a craft mat or other slick surface and your heat gun and use the Frosted Filter Tutorial to create a fun project in honor of the caffeinated drink that helps us get to our destination.
You can check out the tutorial here.
Make sure you check out all the great samples below to get you inspired. Can't wait to see what you create with this easy and fun technique.

I really loved doing this technique and want to try it again with some lighter colors. My mom has already laid claim to this card for her dad's birthday. LOL!
This is such an easy and fun technique. If you don't have coffee filters you could probably use tissue paper. I can't wait to what everyone makes for my challenge.
It sure was fun, Melissa, but oh the ink on the fingers!! Well, till my son brought me in his gloves that he uses to change his oil! Then I could get as messy as I wanted with no discolored fingers!!
What a fun technique (I've never done this) using a coffee filter! My fingers are blue and purple but I love how it turned out! Thanks so much Melissa!
( I know I have some coffee stained used ones dried already and I am kicking around the idea of adding some inks to those?)
(or will they be too fragile after)
we shall see, I have talked my self into trying it.
I ended up using one of this weeks FS's cards as a sketch for my filter card. I also kept scrunching the filter for a while and spraying it with water to move the color around and it still dried pretty flat. ( this was a used filter that had been dried with coffee stains on it) I am not sure if I would have had more texture with a new one or not

Someone else used her already used filter for the challenge and it worked great. So you can do either. I bought a huge pack of the white ones at Target for a little over a dollar, so I just used some new ones. Plus I'm too lazy to clean a used one. ;)
Sometimes it is just fun to experiment though. Hope you had fun doing that.
It can be a bit tricky at first. I actually used too much ink the first time. I used Ranger Mini Misters for the water and that helped to control the amount. It's all about experimenting and just having fun no matter the outcome.
I didn't think I was gonna like this Frosted Filter, but I did...I really did!!! I will have another card to put in the gallery. For now, a tiny use of one of my Frosted Filters. Thank you Melissa.
