What time does Staycation VSN begin and end on Friday 7/13 and Saturday 7/14/18?

On Friday, it begins at 5pm Eastern time and on Saturday it begins at noon Eastern time. Noon is a kids' challenge and beginning at 1pm are the regular challenges. Adults are welcome to participate in the kids' challenges.

Can someone explain this to me please??? I see everyone uploading cards but I'm not real sure how to play along. I always thought this was for the dirty girls but followed it a little bit last time and it looks like it might be open to all.

Tonda, VSN is open to everyone. While it's fast-paced, it's not nearly as fast-paced as DTGD which you might be mixing it up with. That's a once-a-year event which is restricted to Fan Club members as a thank you to them for being subscribing members of the site. It's coming up the first week in August. VSN usually takes place three times a year, and is just Friday evening and Saturday, while DTGD runs for a full week.
VSN is this coming weekend.

Hi all just checking the start times,
So if the start time is 5 pm Eastern time that will mean all of us in Australia on the Eastern Seaboard will kickoff on Saturday at 10 am and Sunday at 6 am, hope this is right as those start times are brilliant.
Could someone let me know if my Time Zone calculator has gone on vacation and I have it wrong.

Tonda...you might still consider playing...the challenges all come out on Friday and Saturday and you have an hour to complete each one. You don't have to play along in real time....you'll have a week to load your cards to the gallery. And you can combine VSN challenges with daily challenges. So if you're busy on the actual days of the VSN challenges you can still participate when you have an hour to make a card. Make sense?

you do not need to attach your cards thumbnail to the chat thread but, if you have loaded the card to the gallery you can insert a live link to the cards URL in the gallery and then other players can find it a little easier.


(it also helps hostesses if you have their keyword for the challenge in your upload as some people go to the gallery and look at it that way too, to find the ones that do not link up in the chat threads)

Jeanette, you just put a link to your card in the challenge thread. You have done that before.

you need to have two tabs open on your computer,

one for your project in the gallery

and the other in the chat thread of that particular challenge

in the url (web address line) of the gallery card, highlight that ( on a PC if you have a mouse right click once it should highlight the line, then there should be a drop down menu pop up on the screen hit copy)

then in the chat thread where you are telling the hostess hey you played and here is your card right click once in that reply box. hit Paste

(it should transfer the link to the gallery where your card is to the reply box) and it should auto format when you hit submit.

you can also do it by opening the go advanced button below this box.

and then you should see a lot more choices of what you can do with your reply box. above the box in the second row there is one that looks like a blue globe with two chainlinks on its lower right side.


if you have already hit copy of where you want the link to go to, you can highlight text in your box where you are typing a reply and then you can click that globe, a pop up box opens up with Http: in it, highlight over that and hit paste.


and it will make your words in the post that you highlighted the a live hypertext link for you.

Can someone please start from scratch and tell me what VSN is all about. I have been poking around at various pages here and see that people make cards on a certain day and upload them.
I can't find a place to start! I know that one is not going on now, but all I know is how to make cards. I need links to pages with the actual challenge description and a supplies list, then where to post a card. BASICS, please!

When they have it again they will start posting under VSN on homempage. If you got to this questions, then you should have seen everything else. This is the place where they will post a chat thread, a supply list, and the main challenge threads. Once you post on the chat thread when it is started, they will post links to challenges in it. But you can always click on VSN and see everything. On home page, under On Going. I hope you will play next time. It is every couple of months.

Hi there!

As Sharon said, you are in the right forum for Virtual Stamp Night. Follow the link she shared, and you will see each separate challenge thread, the shopping list, and more.

Players upload to the VSN gallery (instructions are in each challenge thread) and then add a link from the gallery to the challenge thread. Is that the part you are unsure of? Have you ever shared a gallery link (your gallery is LOVELY!) If not, one of us can "talk" you through the process sometime.

We don't have VSN as often as every couple of months, just 3 events each year. BUT, each one is introduced by a "Mini" VSN about a month before.

Lee (LuvLee), Misti (Scraperwannabe) and I are the current VSN Mods. We come up with an overall theme, and do a hostess call-out ahead of time. Most VSN's have a combo of experienced and new hostesses.

We used to have a very short time frame to complete the challenges (Fri-Mon) but now we extend it an extra week. Players do not have to complete all of the challenges, but there are special prizes.

VSN combines challenges based on theme, techniques, sketches, and inspiration. I encourage you to read about our recent event to get an idea. Here is a link to the thread with all of the challenges listed:

Hi Lee.. you know me.. I really need to block out dates on my calendar. Do we at least have the dates for the next one. The farther out I can block the date, the more apt I am to be able to play.
