In my home town, our big summer festival is Bohemia Mining Days, celebrating our early settlers who mined gold (gold!) in the mountains just southeast of town. Bohemia Saddle, the mountain named after Bohemia Joe who made the first claims, still produces some small amounts of gold.

Bohemia Mining Days includes SO MANY events!! Three parades-- the grand parade, a kids' parade, and the Bloomers parade, when we women wear bloomers and camisoles marching down Main Street! Carnival. Bohemia City in the park with music, food, and vendors. Ore cart races. Pancake breakfast on the mountain. Lots of folks in period costume. The honorary marshal and the Lemati Gang... I'm sure Im forgetting something. It's a lot of fun.

AND-

Organizing it is a lot of work. The BMD committee meets year-round, and there's lots of volunteers during the events. Huge. So, in response to Labor Day, let's honor those who work to make our lives (and festivals!) awesome.

For this challenge, create a gratitude project for these workers. Extra points if there's mountains, pioneers, or gold involved.
