It's August already, time for our next VSBN. I had planned to post it earlier, really .... but somehow my MOJO deserted me. Yup, poof! Up and run out the door .... oh hey, yes ... yes, I'm glad you're here! Thanks for showing up to help me look for my missing MOJO. That Creative Motivation that pushes all of us to get pages done.
I should be ready to get started looking in just a minute, just give me a sec, I just got my new [*insert favorite stamping catalog*] and wanted to browse through that. Oh look at all the fun stuff .... I just love to go through the pages ...

Get out your new stamping idea book, an old magazine and flip through the pages. Sometimes getting off-line and browsing can spark an idea.

Seriously now ... have you found it? Where could it be? While we're lookin', maybe it would help to get our hands on some supplies and do a background for pages when we find the MOJO ... yup, maybe that will bring it back?
Challenge 3 --- Background Basics ... Use your stamps, inks, stencils, markers, ribbons....whatever you have at hand to make a background for a page. I added a SCS Tutorial if you need an idea ....

Challenge #4 - Try something new to you. If you scrap mostly 2 pages, do 1. If you do traditional pages, try a pocket page. Perhaps you start with the Journaling first?

Look at the clock ... eeekk... we've been here for hours looking for that MOJO and it's still not found ? We need to get busy but ...
Challenge #5 - This challenge is about time. It's about getting a page done. Set the timer, your stopwatch, or just look at the clock and go .... you have 1 hour for a 1pg spread, 2 hours for a 2pg spread.

I been here at Scrap retreat since noon. Went walking first, and now have done 5 pages so far, some of them for these challenges! Will have to wait till Monday to photo and upload! Yay!
Well done Sharon. I finally found my mojo and have just created a bg which is currently drying. I'm using a digi LO from your challenge last month and hoping to post for that challenge and one of Lela's this month. My next challenge is to sort photos for my next albums and LOs....happy day and scrapping.

I used a layout from the Fun Stampers Inspiration Book & Catalogue.
I took a shot of my page with the book open so you can see my inspiration. I had to switch sides because Jovy was looking to his left.
I made this with the scrap kit I put together for Jill Sprout's challenge to use a list of things from our stash to make 3 layouts or projects.

This LO was inspired by a digi photo in Sharon's scraplift challenge for July. Unfortunately I ran out of time in July and although my photo is a lot bigger than the one in the original LO, I tried to improvise as best I could. Just love the BG which in the digi photo looked like cardboard. Mine is sort of lots of creases and supposed to resemble our son's vest LOL
This LO is for Challenge 3 - Background Basics. The blue matting around the photo was also a BG I created several weeks ago and then didn't use so I figure I can get away with it for this challenge using 2 ;)
This was supposed to be the last page for our son's albums and the cover page. The photo was taken in his early 20s when he was asked to do a modelling shoot.
Unfortunately I saw a LO online and which I thought I could do for another challenge this month, so one more LO to go and the albums are done...yay. :p

I have done all the challenges here at my retreat. I will upload when I get home, Sunday night or Monday! Love the Scrap retreat; I am already on the waiting list for November!I got here at noon Thursday and already have done 11 pages. Also have gone walking several times, shopping, and out to eat some. They feed us here, really eating good! LOL
Oh WOW! These are FUN pages! I have all of mine done but SCS Gallery and me have not been getting along so well lately. I think it's my internet that's been wonky. I'm hoping to upload all of mine today

Challenge #2 & 3
Right side is for challenge #2 Inspiration was Student of Distintion
Left side is for challenge #3 I stamped and used a stencil and sprayed my background.
Here is Matzalon.
I completed 19 pages and started two more at the scrap retreat this week-end.
So my cruise album is mostly done. I will do the finishing touches on those pages and get them posted. Thank you, Lela!
I found my mojo and inspiration after seeing a LO online several weeks ago and had saved it into my favourites folder on my iPad. I was searching for images of LOs featuring "Then & Now" photos for my last page for our youngest son's many albums LOL. I have changed it a little but I think when I post my LO you will still be able to see the resemblance.
The LO was via scrapbookexpo.com and was a LO by Nicole Nowosad. Unfortunately I've tried to link the image but am having no joy :(
Hopefully my LO will still comply with Challenge #1.
I will post mine now. Happy day

Here's a 2 page LO I created this week for the Sketch17Aug challenge.
As these pages took no time at all, particularly the right hand side which took less than an hour, I thought I would post them in this month's VSBN Challenge #5.
Thanks Lela and also Cheryl for the challenges this month.
I now hope to find time to create a travel page for this month's scraplift challenge before we head off.
