MAY11VSBNB ~ Saturday, May 7, 2011 ~ 4:00 PM EST ~ Golden Margarita
Title: Golden Margarita Hostess: Mary Pat (Mary_Pat419) Keyword: MAY11VSBNB Day/Date: Saturday /May 7 Time: 4 PM (EST)
Cheers to My Fellow Scrappers!
My recipe for you today involves one of my favorite style of food/drinks, Mexican. Weve just past Cinco de Mayo, which is Mexicos Independence Day, but for us in the U.S. its just a fun holiday to eat, drink, & be merry with friends!
One of my favorite jobs was cocktailing and bartending at a fun Mexican restaurant called Casa Lupita. I loved the people I worked with and the food was wonderful...Nachos, Burrito Esplandito, Arroz con Polloand so much more! My favorite drink to go with them all was a Golden Margarita!
If you want to make yourself a Golden Margarita before this challenge this is what you need: 1 oz. Jose Cuervo 1800 Gold Tequila, 1/2 oz Grand Marnier, 1.5 oz Roses lime juice, 1.5 oz Simple Syrup, & a splash of sour mix shaken and poured over ice toped with a garnish of limesalted rim optional.
Here is my challenge to you, put the following items together to create your delicious scrappy Golden Margarita:
Jose Cuervo Gold Tequila: use gold on your page
Grand Marnier (orange liquor): use orange paper on your page
Roses Lime Juice: the key word here is Roses, so use a flower(s) on your page
Simple Syrup: this is something you need to premix'equal parts sugar & water boiled then cooled. Use something that you had to premake to put on the page
Sour Mix: use a bit of sour lemon (yellow) to add some brightness to your page
Lime garnish ~ the smooth or bumpy rind of the lime is where a lot of the flavor resides: use texture as the garnish to your page.
Salt (optional): the bling on the glassuse a little bling if you like the taste
Now as popular as frozen Margaritas are they are nothing compared to this shaken blend of ingredients for a cool, refreshing, relaxing drink to go with some of your favorite Mexican (or non-Mexican ;-) ) recipes!

Wow, such a quiet thread...don't remember it being this quiet before...I'm playing around too much and getting myself in trouble...guess I'll work on another challenge...or start dinner...
So where did everyone go? Only Patti has stopped by to say hello...anyone else out there?
I'm here! This was a challenge for me! I'm working on an album so I'm trying to keep all of the pages cohesive while still following the requirements for the challenge. I'm done though, and within the two hours! Phew! I was beginning to think I wouldn't make it!!!! I've taken the pictures, I just need to download them. I will try to do so before heading out for Mother's Day supper at my Mom's. Otherwise, I will check in later and work on the next few challenges tomorrow.
I only took out a couple other shoppers in the grocery store, I was running. It's probably the quickest I've EVER gotten through there. Not sure I got everything but...I even bagged my own groceries to speed up the process, hahaha ;)

Very creative challenge. Sounds fun but I'm not sure I could do this one in digi though. I'll have to think about it....just got home from my "night" out. Wasn't quite as much fun as I was hoping but it was still a night out away from the boys! off to check out the 3rd challenge now.
I need to figure out how to configure my photos so that the files are smaller; I keep having to crop them to make them fit. I will have to fix the title to the link tomorrow, I'm still not too familiar with posting the links and such!
For it to show in the challenge gallery you need to add the keyword for the challenge.
OK, Thank you!!
I went back and did that, for all the pages I did for the challenges, and now none of them are showing up......I'm assuming it's updating? Sorry, I'm very new to posting for the challenges.
Had a blast doing this VSBN though!!
Here's my page. I hope SU Cajun Craze is OK for orange paper. I wanted something a bit muted and not so bright and this looked orange to me so I created a sheet of it. DGS says it looked brown to him. Since this is a digi page, I didn't really have anything premade to put onto it other than changing some of the blends and opacities to make things look different and I did change the color of the "brush" I used that had some flowers on it...this wasn't really a flower kind of layout .
Bah, only realised at 7pm tonight that the deadline wasn't last weekend but THIS weekend. I wish I'd realised sooner, I would have tried to do a few more challenges. Oh well, I couldn't resist one about Margaritas!
Thanks Mary Pat for the challenge.
