Default Which TV Show ended too soon?

Have you ever gotten into a new show, only to find out it was going to be cancelled a few weeks (or one season) later? But they leave other garbage on?? LOL (I know, more people like the other stuff!!)....

Which shows ended too soon in your opinion?

Some of my short-lived favorites include:

Rags to Riches (early to mid eighties - I was hooked as a kid - these orphans all came together in this big house, and they all sang...)
Anything But Love (Jamie Lee Curtis and....??? can't remember his name, but I loved the romantic tension between them! I always thought it was fun that she and her best girlfriend called each other Mrs. Schmenkman. lol)
Sports Night (with the one desperate housewive woman...)
Boston Common (big fan of Boyd!)
Two Guys and a Girl (and a pizza place, depending on how early you watched it)

but most of all...

ED!

Did you love Ed?? Hello! Those blue eyes and messy hair!!! OMG. Tom Cavanaugh is TOTALLY on my "list".

The Guardian!

I loved that show I did not realize until after the last show of the season they had canceled the show!

The show that I loved that just dissapeared was Miss Match. It was on NBC I think in the Fall 2003 lineup on Friday nights. My hubby is a full time student and he also worked full time at the time. Friday nights seemed to drag with the kids cause they wanted Daddy from all week of not seeing him. It was my relax time after getting them to bed! I was/am still so dissapointed! They never said anything about it that I saw, it was just gone! I also loved Friends even tho it was on for forever and miss it still!

Oh my gosh!! I remember that show. Weren't the kids orphans and the rich guy adopts them. I thought it was kind of an 80's "Annie" knockoff. LOL

My favorite "cancelled in it's first season" show that got ousted was "Aaron's Way". It starred Merlin Olson as an Amish guy who had to move his family outside of the Amish community. It was a TERRIBLE show from a factual standpoint...but, it was a nice show. LOL

I agree on "Ed" !!! Loved, loved loved Ed! It was such a great show. He is so hot!

I also think The Newlyweds ended too early. I know, I know...don't boo me. I really liked that show. It definately won't be the same with Brittany as a newlywed...can you say....boring! Haven't we had enough of her?

The one I miss is Moon Over Miami, with the guy that played the Rocketeer, I think his name was Bill Campbell.
And Christie.

There were 2 shows: Threat Matrix and The Agency. Both just ended - both in cliffhangers or unended plots. They were really good shows!

Definitely one of my favorites. I also loved Stingray, an eighties show. I loved the car!

They recently cancelled Eyes, which both my dh and I really enjoyed. I hate getting attached to a show and then having them cancelled. That's why I have been watching more and more reality shows. At least they usually don't get cancelled until they are completed and somebody "won" something.

There was a great show on called Homefront...it was about these guys just coming back from the war and how they fit back into their families and the town...good stuff. It had the guy from the show Early Edition in it -- which also ended a little early in my opinion

I LOVED Eyes - it was such a fun show! I have written ABC about that show (if it's coming back, what happened, etc.) and I have not heard back. (But I haven't heard back about any of the shows I've ever written about!)

I remember about 6 or 7 years ago, they did a new Pretender movie on one of the cable channels. It was supposed to answer questions. It answered some of the questions, and brought up more. I guess they thought maybe they could bring the series back! Wish they could!

Two recent ones are Blind Justice and Boston Legal, with William Shatner. At least I think the one was called Boston Legal...oh yea and Joan of Arcadia.

Also, Eyes, which was just officially cancelled after five measly episodes. Grrr...

Okay, I'm going to go WAYYYYYYYYYYYY back here, but I used to love the show Sisters. It had Sela Ward (love her!), Swoozie Kurtz, and two others that I can't remember their names. All of the sisters had boy names: Frankie, Teddy, Georgie, and................Oh shoot, I can't remember!!
Anyway, I loved that show!

Default One from this season I will REALLY miss

I can't believe that Jack and Bobby is not coming back. What a fantastic show that hardly anyone was watching. I guess it got "Lost" among some other new shows, but I for one will miss that one.

I LOVED that show. If it ever comes on DVD (which it probably wont) I would buy it in a heartbeat or ask for it for Yule. I loved it and it just ended and left us hanging.

I have to agree with Sisters, loved it. I also miss Chicago Hope ,NYPD blue, and thirtysomething- I would sit and watch it when my oldest son was just born, also all the reruns of it. And now they are taking away Blind Justice. Its a good thing we still have ER and Nanny 911. Kerry

I also loved "Sisters" and I also miss "Once and Again" (starred Sela Ward, too)...hmmm, do you see a pattern here with Sela Ward? lol

Ed was a great show that my whole family could watch and I also loved "Rags to Riches", but could never remember what the name of it was! I remember the girls standing by a fence at school and singing "I love him, I love him, I love him, and where he goes I'll follow, I'll follow, I'll follow, he'll always be my true love, my true love, my true love"...okay, you get the idea! I tried asking my DH just the other day if he remembers this show and he looked at me like I had two head! lol

These were the first shows that popped into my head when I saw this thread. They were both wonderful. I would add Sports Night and Ed to that list. Currently, I have been thanking the TV gods that Arrested Development was renewed for another season.

THEY CANCELLED EYES! I actually liked that one. Well, I guess both of the Dalys are out of work right now. Tyne (Judging Amy) and Tim (Eyes) both got cancelled, both I watched. Are we seeing a pattern here?
I also used to watch Boston Common (loved Boyd, not as good on Yes, Dear) and Two Guys and a Girl (yes, I watched it when it was a Pizza Place too).

Shows that ended way too soon:

"Billy" starred Billy Connolly -- a Scottish high school teacher who married to stay in the US. Funny!

"Now and Again" -- a man is killed in a subway accident and the US government keeps his brain alive and puts it in a bio-engineered body. The govenment wants to use him as a secret agen-- all he wants to do is go back to his wife and daughter.

Does anyone remember Aaron's Way? It was on a long time ago! It was so good...it was about the Amish.

I was very sad to see Ed go and the Pretender.
Very angry about American Dreams!!!

My DH and I loved Two Girls and a Guy and a Pizza Place! And they ended it without telling us which girl was pregnant!

I also loved Wonderfalls on Fox. They aired 4 episodes and then cancelled it. Thankfully, I got the DVD with the 13 episodes that were filmed. Wshew!
