Default Survivor Fans, Let's Chat!

Survivor starts tonight!!!!!! (I didn't see a new thread yet) I hope it's a good season.
"The castaways learn that they must take a preliminary vote based on 1st impressions." This sounds interesting. If that's true, then the annoying ones should go first. I'll be back tomorrow to see what you think.

So what did you think. I wanted Carolina to go the minute she opened her mouth. A blindside on the first episode is awesome. I'm sure Sandy will go quick too. I did like the twist. I thought they were going to go to exhile island instead of on a helicopter ride. Next weeks challenge is very physical. Looks good.

Sandy isn't my cup of tea and I was wishing both she and Carolina could go! I'm sorry, I'm 52 and thought Sandy was 63, not 53. Guess she's spent a lot of time in the sun.

If you haven't watched it yet, check out the video of Probst talking about all the survivors - he gives some insight into who each one is. Key in on the comment about the girl in the red dress!

http://www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor/

I hope that river water has been tested. They started using it before they had flint to make a fire to boil it! How stupid was the one team that didn't grab any water or bag of food. When I saw the watermelon and the bananas being handed down, I said to my DD watching with me, "someone's going to be hungry very soon!" I'm looking forward to this season, too - sounds like they are going to have some new twists!

Wow. That hour just flew by. Sandy cracked me up. "What's a pace?" I wondered if she even knew what a palm tree was. I was really surprised that they didn't send her home first. Looks like a really good season is in store.

That was a good clip. It was interesting to see what Jeff thought of everyone. Except he was wrong about Carolina! Ha!

Watching Sandy look for the next idol clue was crazy. Even if she did not know what a pace was, look for the LONE PALM TREE!! The woman was clueless - pardon the pun. She probably won't last long, even if she did well with the first challenge. Listening to her talk would drive me nuts.
And what was with the Mormon guy (sorry I don't know names yet) stripping all the way down to get water. It is over 100 degrees, your clothes will dry. Another season of lots of fuzzy circles covering body parts.
Good first episode, hopefully the tribes will be evenly matched and not so one sided like last season.

OMG! I thought she was well over 60 too! I'm also 52, and I sure hope I don't look that old!

Glad Carolina went home - wasn't much in the challenge, and her voice is annoying...

Sandy will be good for comic relief for a while, I hope - "what's a pace" - what is a pace anyway - a big step or a regular step?

I think it's going to be a fun season. I'll be surprised if Sandy lasts long unless she does well in the challenges. That's what saved her last night. However, I think she's going to get on everyone's nerves -- that's what got Carolina voted out. If you were going to spend 39 days on Survivor, would you really wear a sun dress and cowboy boots?

I was thinking the same thing. I am surprised she was able to make that 4 hour hike in those things.

I always thought a pace was a giant step (long stride). That's what they show in the movies when they're dueling or looking for treasure (hence, my fav, Captain Jack Sparrow looking for his hidden cache of rum!).

I thought it was interesting that the clothing for both tribes was color coordinated. Everyone in the Jalapeno (as Sandy called them) tribe was in shades of red/orange/pink and their buffs are red. The other tribe all had on dark colors and their buffs are black.

Oh my goodness thank you! I was watching and fell out of my chair when I heard she was 53 because that is my age. I thought she looked a lot older than 53 at least I sure hope that is not what 53 looks like.

I wonder if they'll go back to separate reward/immunity challenges. The exile twist was interesting but I thought I'd read that there wasn't going to be an exile island this season. Hmm. Not at all sad about the vote.

I was surprised there weren't two challenges, but it did give more time for seeing how things were going at camp. I could do without the 5 minute recap at the beginning of the episode. I want to see more of the interaction at camp.

I couldn't believe that Brendan couldn't figure out that "tribal homeland" meant his tribe's camp--DUH!! And he and Sierra digging that GINORMOUS hole on the beach--you'd think they would figure out the idol probably isn't buried 6 feet deep!

I love blindsides and her mouth got her in trouble. I'm ready for Coach to go next. He is creepy. So how many immunity idols are hidden at camp? Just the one that Sandy and Sierra were given clues about or is there another one? I also hope they go to 2 challenges but it was good to see what was happening at camp. It was funny watching Stephen fishing. If they keep getting rid of females, it's going to be the guys at the end.

Yea! Less fuzzy cover ups for next week's show! Seriously - that challenge should have just been fought in the nude! Could her (Candace) boobs be any more obvious?

I'm loving the blindsides! Agree Coach has got to go - he's just full of himself!

I never heard of Eddie George either...

Had to walk away during the termite snacking - I would so starve!

I don't understand why Taj told people who her husband is--not a smart move. It seems like in the past if people knew someone was "well off", they became a target to get rid of because that person isn't seen as "needing" the money.

I totally agree, but I think she was caught off guard and didn't really have a lie prepared to use so early on in the game. She should've practiced lying before going on the show!

Not being a sports fan I didn't know who Taj's husband was. I think she will have a target on her back now. Also, I think that when they choose people to go on Survivor they must stay away from people who know about fishing, hunting and common survival sense!

To me it looked like Taj was dying to tell everyone who her hubby was and only later realized it was probably a mistake. She seemed pleased as punch to get to brag about her successful dh and listen to all those boys ooh and ahh about how awesome he is. She definitely has a target on her now. She'd better find that idol, and find it quick.

I was so disappointed not to see Coach truly blind-sided! I don't think that Candace's was a true blind-side - she talked about the possibility of being the one to go home. I didn't catch all the discussion at camp - did someone promise to not vote for her?

Jeff Probst said that it was going to be hard to vote off people because there were SO MANY likable people this season - I don't see them. Does anyone?

I agree; she couldn't wait to tell. Did you notice that she continued to finish her sentence saying who her husband was even though she was being interrupted? It's killing me not to tell my DS that Eddie's wife is on the show. DS is the biggest Titans fan and still proudly wears his George jersey. Can't give it away as he's in college and will watch the entire series in May when he comes home. Let's see how well Mom keeps the secret

Oh, what a secret to keep! Good luck with that. I have no idea who Eddie is, so it meant nothing to me. If I were on the tribe, though, I would now know that she has way more money than I do and that's never good when you're on survivor.

I only saw the ending Thursday night. Need to go back and watch the whole thing. So, is Taj's husband Eddie George? I remember him from our days living in Nashville.

aw ty Diane

I think Taj wanted to brag about her hubby too. Yes, it was a mistake.I think she will go far as she is a athletic gal and will help her team.

Coach is a guy you love to hate. In fact I can not stand him. That being said I would hate for him to be voted off. Just as long as he does not win the million dollars. He is very entertaining.

Brenden is fascinating to me and very cute I saw the special on him and his company a few months back. So he sold it to Kellogs.......hmmm I guess he is another who does not need the money. Although as young as he is a million dollars won't last forever. (I don't know what he sold it for)

Sandy is not my favorite by far. She still is to whiney for me and doesn't try hard enough.

I have my eye on the guy who was in the military. I don't know his name but I love his laid back easy going style.

It seems they are voting out the know it all premadonnas out first this season which is fine by me.

Jeff Probst said that it was going to be hard to vote off people because there were SO MANY likable people this season - I don't see them. Does anyone?
I don't remember that. She was talking to one of the other girls, and said that she was sure neither of them would be going home because they were so strong in challenges.
